I receive the odd wink and if I like who's winked I send a polite, thanks for your wink I'd love to chat more, this has resulted in me now trying to organise a meet with said cpls.
Cpls and fems receive a lot of messages so can be choosy and say winks are lazy, I see them as a tentative hi, all it takes is a wink back and then you can send a message, not send a message and waste your time with it being deleted, which is an ego knock, but I suppose those ppl don't realise how soul destroying being knocked back all the time is! |

I quite like winks though I don't check mine that often. But if I like the winker I do wink back.
I also use them as a way of opening a conversation and when I check updates I will wink at those who I like the look of. It's a way of getting someone to take a look at my profile instead of simply replying which single guys often do if you message them as some don't get much mail. |

Now I get the friend requests part, takes a while til I'll accept one, but winks I see no harm in testing the water, although I never wink as I know cpls won't respond, saying that, I never send messages either as ppl never respond! |

I don't think they are lazy at all, they are a good ice breaker, I wink a lot and I check my winks and if someone takes my fancy I wink back, that way at least there is a sign you are slightly interested. |
