Main risk comes.from.having cuts or things in your mouth, ie if you've brushed your teeth to hard before or after, your stomach acid is pretty good at killing things but they can get into your blood further up if there's anything wrong |

std's are just as easily spread by oral as with penetration as the infection gets in through the mucus membrane which believe it or not is the same in your mouth as your pussy and it has nothing to do with ppl not washing properly |

Actually this is not true.
Viral infections such as HIV and Hep B are very seldom transmitted through oral. HPV is but only some strains.
Herpes is as well but only type one (which causes cold sores) which 90% of population is a carrier anyway an I would imagine you would not play if you saw someone had an active cold sore.
So the actual risk is for the transmission of chlamydia and gonorhea which are both bacterial infections and easily treated with antibiotics. |

This is incorrect!!
Its MUCH harder to spread sdi's orally...assuming there's no sore's, inflammation of skin or broken skin on either cock or in the mouth...the mouth is much better equipped to deal with foreign fluids and particles as we are constantly breathing in huge amounts of toxins every day!! |

What?!?
Ok my final word.
Please don't listen to a bunch of people who think they know it all. For your own peace of mind GUM clinic will have all the accurate information and I assume that if you are that concerned you are getting tested regularly anyway so just ask them. at least you will get the facts.

Sounds like you should stick to being safe. It only takes one with something like clamydia and you'll wish you hadn't.
I'd love to have an ass filled with cum but I never will because it's simply not worth the risk.
I'll suck without a condom as will my wife and we hope if we are unlucky enough to catch something that it will be easily treatable.
Full sex in either hole is kinda accepted to be more risky to catch nastier std's so we always insist on condoms.
I wish we didn't mind sucking latex but we do. If you can cope with it; then well done you. You'll never be 100% safe even with a condom but you're being safer than most. Keep being safe xxx |

I know there is a risk but I wonder how much this has been whipped up by the media again. I know a number of people in the music business who regularly have unprotected sex with groupies yet I haven't heard of anyone getting a serious illness ss a result.
Not saying you shouldn't take care but so many things are exaggerated these days. One guy has had five kids by five different groupies and there have been three abortions from him too that I've heard of.
No wonder he has trouble hitting the high notes these days! |

Tis interesting reading the responses on this subject...
I guess it all comes down to risk and reward, and the balance of probabilities. The risks are slight, but you cannot neglect them. If you have unprotected anal sex with someone who has H.I.V, you will catch H.I.V around one in every thirty or so occasions. I am not prepared to take that risk. There are though, unfortunately, many who do...... Similarly, with oral sex, the probability of catching something is low, but if the thought of catching something is worse than the taste of latex, well, you know what to do. The woman who suggested that the G.U.M clinic was the best option was spot on. Professionals all the way. Anyone fancy a Dental Dam with their tea and cake? |

"well iv sucked a lot and havnt cought anything yet.
Oh well it must be safe then......"
Having sex with different people is risky wether you use condoms or not, and so is lots of other things too.
you could have sex with just one person and catch something also, you dont know who or how many people they have had sex with.
i spoke to a health worker at the GUM clinic and he said a lot of people dont like using condoms for oral sex all though most people know that it is best too. |

If you having sex with lot of peoples why care if you going to continue to do so. Sex is a contact sport in some cases you get hurt if you don't protect yourself. so what look good on the outside isn't alway good on the inside. |

I got gonorrhoea when I first started swinging in the throat so it's not that unusual, I suspect most people just don't admit it because you feel dirty and like a tit. The GUM clinic said there was an outbreak of it at the time I caught it. I had protected sex but unprotected oral. Nothing since but now I do not allow men to cum in my mouth and I am massively picky about who I have any kind of interaction with. Women are much much more at risk from oral sti's than men because of where the infection sites are in respective bodies. |

...which is passed more through kissing. I've sucked more cocks than I can even count and also have never caught an STD. My GUM clinic have said the same...risk is minimal if no cuts in the mouth, stomach acid would kill practically any nasty, and make sure they look and smell ok...any green bits or oozing, tell them to do one x |

My GUM clinic usually congratulate me for being a responsible swinger. They also told me the risks are significantly lower for unprotected oral, they always do mouth, vag and anal swabs as well as blood. The risk assessment I've made for myself is that in 30 odd years of sexual activity I've had one dose of clap when I was a teenager in the pre AIDS/safe sex days. I get a full suite of tests every 3 months and if I were to have a cold sore, I wouldn't be kissing anyone, let alone sucking their cock/licking pussy until it cleared up...obviously, were I to catch anything and it seemed to be from oral, I would reassess - until then, I'm happy with how I play. As others have said, best person to advise anyone is their GUM professional and the only 100% safe sex is no sex... |

Possible infections are:
Herpes simplex type 1 and 2; if infected you can be shedding viral particles before and after other symptoms are present i.e. the tingling, pain or blister/sore
Gonorrhea
HPV genital warts can take months to develop and can be extremely small at first i.e. microscopic. Multiple types but some are implicated e.g.HPV 16 with oropharyngeal carcinoma; lead in time 10 - 20 years, a particularly unpleasant malignancy and beginning to be seen as locally invasive disease in people in their 40s and 50s. A definite link to multiple sexual partners.
Hepatitis B and, probably hepatitis C if there are any abrasions on the penis.
Syphilis
Chancroid
Chlamydia
HIV; relatively 'low risk' but it's difficult to give an exact level of risk as, often, other sexual activity is involved. The receiver is more at risk if the woman is infected than vice versa as the virus could transfer to the urethral mucosa or enter abrasions etc. on the penile shaft.
Some research presented at the 7th Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections in 2000 concluded that 8 of 122 cases in an HIV-transmission study were possibly attributable to performing oral sex on a man. Of these 8 infected people, some reported having had recent dental work or having cuts in their mouths, suggesting that HIV transmission by oral sex is associated with cuts, lesions, or irritation of the tissues in the mouth.
Definite risk for female to male transmission during and just after menstruation.
Remember, also, the presence of one STD, increases the likelihood of another.

" But its still very unlikely! "
Personally; I would not want to be infected with hepatitis B or C, herpes simplex, HIV or HPV.
Google or use wikipedia for the complications as these infections can, ultimately, kill.
Chlamydia can be treated but may cause infertility and miscarriage in women.
Syphilis is one of those infection that is making a big time come-back; it has a very long lead in time after the initial, sometimes minor, symptoms and unless you are being screened in a GU clinic, very few doctors would consider it as a differential diagnosis. Like tuberculosis, it's a great mimic and unless you think about the possibility of infection you will miss it.

There's too much confusion with what 'could' happen and what's 'likely' to happen
I 'could' be attacked and killed by a mad badger walking out of my house
Now I don't stay in my house with badger fear because that's unlikely to happen
There's lots of potential diseases you can catch from sex, oral, anal even if protection if used (remember condoms have a significant pregnancy failure rate)
But for oral sex without protection and vaginal/ anal with protection those risks are very low such that most of us accept those risks for the rewards of this lifestyle
Remember the only safe sex is no sex and deleting your account |

the above advice I actually got very similar advice from the clinic.. I have asked many times as I used to do major greedygirl sessions.. talking double figures oral sex every session... So I asked in great detail...
I was told that the risk is significantly less.. the risk being highest for chlamydia and gonorhea and the main risk being herpes..
I can also go on sheer numbers.. I have sucked LOTS of cock unprotected in fact have only once EVER sucked one with a condom on.. and NEVER again..
And I have never so much as caught a cold from unprotected oral... and trust me... the numbers are against me on this one...
People should really be totally honest with the clinics when they go.. Because if you dont tell them.. they often wont give FULL screenings.. and sometimes you have to ASK for throat and mouth swabs.
Oh and just to be a bit doom and gloom.. Gonorrhoea is starting to not respond to anti biotics in some cases.

Why don't you mail us privately as A is gum clinic nurse
She's been swinging 15 years and although fully protects for penetration
She doesn't for oral
Not once in 15 years has she caught an std
Of course there are risks but they are minimal in comparison with unprotected penetration

i always have all the tests done, only a couple of years ago a nurse at a GUM clinic said that you can get pregnant if a man has sperm on his fingers then he touches you, when i mentioned it on here a man said i was daft to believe her. have you noticed that different doctors say different things sometimes. its best to read as much as you can about what you need to know on the internet, as well. |
