After a couple of weeks of being a Gold Member, I just thought I would let others know my personal opinion of it all to perhaps help others decide wether it is worth the fee or not, it would be nice for other Gold or Silver members to do the same.
Personally - we love it
Being able to see who has viewed our profile is great not only do we see who may have been interested but we also see who isn't interested in us, after all if they read and view our profile without getting in touch afterwards it's kind of a sure signal that we are not for them.
More pictures, we are abusing this, I think we have around 90 pics on our profile now and are adding more daily, it's been a great excuse to get out in the wilds and have some new pics.
Picture galleries, we like seeing what new pictures have been added to peoples profiles (public pics only viewable unless they are friends)
View multiple cams in chat, excellent we can now see all our friends as we chat to them.
Ability to change your name, probably the best for us as we originally had a single persons name and now that we are a couple wanted to show that in our name.
Removal of ads from site, obviously an advantage.
Site supporter badge, We don need no stinking badges (from Blazing Saddles circa 1973)
View full message history, we like this we can keep track of previous mail conversations when answering the latest mail.
View larger pictures, Yummy
Guaranteed Support on Site issues. only downside in the whole thing, I mailed admin this morning and still have had no reply late in the afternoon now so this doesnt appear to be working.
In summary .... well worth it and we will renew our Gold membership each month |

Yeh i love the idea of the view history of whom you have spoken 2
perfect if you haven't been in touch with the person n u forgot n what u have said 2 each other
The looked at me is also good
wasn't 2 bother bout the upload usage of the picts
(I haven't met any 1 since i upgraded as has it help any 1?)
so in order yeh I probably upgrade but go silver instead |

Personally I liked fab being free, which is why I joined in the first place after feeling that I hadn't had my money's worth on another swinging site. I have all the full functionality I want on here, so can't see us rushing to be a gold or silver member anytime soon.
Plus £30 or £60 a year, depending on your choice, actually works out quite expensive for not a lot extra.

We joined that site when we first started, because we didn't know about this place. We only kept our membership for the year, and don't intend to renew it again. |

hear what your saying on the annual cost but I like the monthly payment scheme, paying by phone for me is great, I find I can afford £5 a month but would struggle to find £60+ in one go.
The best thing is that the site IS still free but you have an option for more facilities, since many dont have pics, many dont use the chatrooms a lot of people have no use for those facilities others will benefit and it is nice to have that option of paying or not |

In one way I am glad members are given a choice on if or how they want to upgrade. When the chatrooms were 'lost' for a while recently I supported the idea of a 1 off payment of £12 so a state of the art platform could be purchased and offered the payment. The key, for me, was it would have been for all to use not just those who had paid although others disagreed. Anyway it never happened.
What has put me against the 'Upgrade' idea was the recent Forum Thread that basically said 'As everyone can afford it if you don't upgrade you aren't genuine'. Which to me is actually quite offensive. Its like those able and willing to pay £60 a year are saying those who can't (or don't want to) are somehow 2nd class members. I wasn't a 2nd class member before and I am not one now but no matter how good the benefits are I am not going to be blackmailed into doing something by a bunch of snobs. By that I mean, to avoid offense, the few who supported this notion in that Thread and made similar comments since and NOT everyone who has upgraded.
If not upgrading means I am seen as less than genuine and not a site supporter so be it. But I know I am both and try to give back into the site what I get out of it. |

personally , it depends on each individual, for example, if a single guy paid £60 and never got a meet he probably wouldn't be impressed , and say its a waste of time, ,... for me i would happily pay £60 . i love fabs the fact its free is just a bonus.

Hopefully the decent and genuine members will never let a 2nd class system emerge here.
For us as gold members we don't want a private chatroom just for gold members, we dont make friends by what type of membership they have.
We dont want a badge to say we are gold members, it is totally unnecessary.
We will not think less of anyone who is not a gold or silver member. |

To be honest the upgrades do nothing for me and i would never pay to be a member of this site. I used the gold membership trial and realised it's something i can well do without.
I don't need a medal icon at the top of my profile to show i'm a supporter of fabswingers, as being a member on a free site and recommending it to other people is already supporting it.
As someone who has been on this site for seven months without a single meet (sad i know) i'm not bothered about seeing who looked at my profile and then left without contacting me, and i already have the ability to track all the emails i have written and sent go straight into peoples deleted bins.
Don't use the chatroom at all as i find it lacking in proper chatting and have more fun in the forums, so i wouldn't bother me if the chatrooms closed!
At this time i am happy with fabswingers being free and as Scrummy points out someone in my position who isn't getting anything from this site will not fork out £60 to occasionally use the forums. This is the only site that i have never met anyone from and if it began to charge for membership i would rather pay and use a site that i know i have a better chance off meeting people. The fact that fab is free and has a great community of people, especially on the forums is what keeps me here! |

I love this site and when the option came for silver or gold upgrades I took it, not to show that I am a genuine person but to offer support to the site. Since the site was taken over by its new owners they have invested a lot of time and effort into the site and in my opinion the changes they have made have been for the better (the only one I think is a waste of time was the photo verification, I have verifications from people who have met me in person so they know i look as I do in pics lol). I opted for the silver membership only because I didnt feel that paying the extra just to view more cams in the chatrooms was worth it. All in all the site is still free and would never think that those who dont opt for the upgrades are not genuine, hell we are going through a credit crunch and money is tight for some just now. |
