What do we class as bbw?

I don't think it can be solely based on dress size but on size and build. A friend of mine is a size 18, she's 5'11" tall and plays woman's rugby yes she's a big girl but in no way a BBW on the other hand another friend is 5'4" tall a size 18 also but has lots of curves/ wobbly bits. Just saying that I think it's down to individual builds rather than a generalisation of dress size. |

We should maybe take our lead from the Vanilla world here where there is no BBW term.
The eye of the swinging beholder should, as their vanilla counterparts do, be able to work out where the line between curvaceous and seriously over weight occurs.
There is absolutely no disrespect meant with the above just the observation that whilst us Swingers politely use the term BBW the vanilla world is often a lot less forgiving  |

Agree 100%, however, I've always seen it as a "ready reckoner". I'm on a site where the options are small, athletic and curvy. Whilst still subjective human nature dictates a man would be thinking more Kelly Brooks than Hattie Jaques. With BBW the reverse is true, allowing people the opportunity to exclude the fatties.
In reality your own eyes and stirring in your loins dictates whether someone is for you.  |

Trouble is not all BBW are beautiful lol - just like any group of people are not to everyone's taste - so it is a totally misleading description in some cases

It's only misleading if you place too much emphasis on the word beautiful. I don't even register what the initials stand for. I just know that when used together it mean fat person or larger lady depending which term you like.
Also. Does beautiful have to mean attractive. Can you not have a beautiful person who is average looking? Can someone not have a beautiful personality? |

For me it's a combination, not just size but height too. A size 14 4 foot tall woman would probably be a BBW, a six foot tall size 14 woman definitely wouldn't be!
Mind you i don't think it really matters too much, sexiness comes from a hell of a lot more than the shape of the body |

I've always struggled with labels xx
Am a size 18/20 but am 5'8 so its more of a well built than wibbly size, have been told I'm not big enough to be a bbw lol |

hard to say realy , personal opinions vary, but most ladys on here seem to self brand them selves , but who cares, as long as you are comfy and confident its just a lable to roughly describe a particular shape size |

I went to Paradise Spa on Fri night and there were lots of BBW's but all different sizes if that makes sense as height was a factor - I would say at 5'5 over size 24 really as under that is just plump soft really ? x I had a great time singing with the girls who were ever so friendly xx |

I'm a size 22/24 but I'm 6'1 so I carry it better than I would if I was 5'1. I still consider myself to be a fat fuck though and if that's not for you, plenty more fish in the sea |

Makes me laugh how some judge on here!! Yesterday I got called short and fat by a girl chatting to my fuck buddy. She was asking me questions about him and also pointed out how much better in bed she would be.
