I don't bitch, my preference is set but I do not use the filters as I enjoy and have friends outside my preference who I enjoy conversing with.
If everyone set the filters forum chats and like share your face etc would not be possible |

I happened upon a brilliant profile by a woman who I would love to talk to, not for meeting purposes. Her age limits prevent me from that. Most frustrating.
I just wish there was a way around that.
If I could contact her, after reading what I have to say she can always block me. No problem with that. It's just that the initial contact is impossible. |

thats why we dont block per se, but have yet set filters and those messaging will get the warning message before being able to contact.
if we need to block any contact, we'll do it on a per profile basis. |

I'm 63. I like to contact people and write/ask about either their posts or profiles. The ones I do manage to contact are always happy to chat/explain.
It's when I feel I can offer a suggestion in whatever field that they are asking for and then run into this wall, that I get exasperated. |

To my amazement and delight quite a number of younger ladies on FAb are drawn to the older man, so age really need not be a significant barrier at all |

Not sure about a forum filter...that would be censorship...ignore things that you do not like...it helps to see people in a truer light...than if they are trying to get into your pants...  |

My motivation for wanting to contact a particular woman and having that prevented, has not been addressed yet.
Although the social side of this site is often acknowledged, I find myself limited in contacting other women. The only way around that would be attending the women-only meets that are being organised, (and hoping that this particular woman will attend). Distance stops me from doing so. *sigh* |
