Lots of guys like to workout as a means of improving their strength, fitness and overall physique, but in various fitness discussions I've often read women say things along the lines of
'I like a man who's toned but not too muscular'
What is too muscular?
'I go for guys with strong legs and big hairy chests'
I'd imagine this person probably wouldn't have the toned six pack look, probably more of a Rugby type build.
What athlete/actor/celebrity would women define as having the ideal male physique? |

"David Beckham
Hmmm, bit more than that for my taste - more swimmers, sprinters and rowers than 5000mtr types, I'm into shoulders."
So a Michael Phelps type? The mans shoulders are so broad I'm sure he has to turn sideways to walk through a door. |

Not too fussy, any shape as long as he is tied to my bondage table, with an errection..simples.
Beauty and physique is only a light switch away, sex starts between the ears and works down.
If you are bothered about shape, colour, size, age you obviously need some help. |

"there is no ideal male physique.women like dif things."
They do, but at the same time, I'm sure there are certain qualities in a male physique that the majority of women are attracted to, and the physique that possesses the most of them is what would be defined as 'ideal'.
I need a tan. |

No ideal type for me either - as it is the whole package I am interested in.
I don't like overweight men or too muscular.
I like to see definition but when a guys arms are wider than me it is off putting. |

I like big thighs but only on certain people it doesn't look right on everyone.
I see allsorts at the gym, big muscles don't suit some people they just look silly, I've been with various size blokes from slim to very big (muscular), to be honest a guys physique isn't what attracts me to him in the first place. There are a few things that would put me off but I can't think of a specific physique I like. |

If you gained a stone in a month that would be more down to what you were eating rather than your training - a man who can gain a stone of muscle in a couple of YEARS has done exceptionally well. |

If only there was one type of body women like it would make life so easy lol. I think women can appreciate a good body or hard work put into it, but still not fancy the person. But its seems David Beckham is getting some major love on this thread |

Nik likes muscles, big but lean and tall .
We ask for athletic/muscular men when we want meets.you would be amazed at what some men consider muscular.
We had a meet last night and he was a big man.I'm not small 6'-2 or 3 and 100kg but he was bigger than me.
She considers the Olympia guys over muscled but regular competition bbuilders are fine.
She thinks Arnold in his prime is perfect shape for a man. |

It is though, this is a site based on looks.you can dress it up as much as you want but if there s someone you don't find attractive you aint going to fuck them.
Nik doesn't find fat men or pencil necks attractive so all the coffee in columbia aint going to get her to meet them. |

That's the one. Its true that he looked great, but I've read accounts saying that he was using steroids right from his very first workout when he was just 16. In order to see what the highest amount of muscle a man can naturally attain is, I only look up to bodybuilders from the 40s and before, prior to the availability of steroids. |

There's no ideal for me either. I like different features, on different people, for different reasons.
Most women seem to like men with hairy chests. I prefer minimal body hair.
I like toned in general but there's no particular perfect example for me.
I like men with a brain, an imagination, an adventurous streak and a sense of humour too.
Not asking much (esp. for a fat bird) eh? |

Read up on them sometime and you'll find that most experts agree that protein aside (though old time bodybuilders would have gotten plenty of that anyway), most supplements are crap and have little to no benefit to any lifter who uses them.
You build your muscles by eating well, lifting heavy and getting plenty of rest after - the old timers knew this and its no different today, modern fancy training methods, rather like supplements offer no improvement upon that. |

I used to be far more "ripped" than I am now but I didn't like it. I'm toned and have 6-pack etc but sometimes people go too far and it looks awful. I think each to their own. I know a lot of girls that genuinely don't like muscles on guys. |

I'll assume you're referring to the pro bodybuilder types who have skin like tanned cellophane with veins and muscles popping out all over the place. Naturally, most people who attempt to get that kind of definition will end up tiny as a result, as the body cannot maintain much in the way of muscle mass without a reasonable amount of fat providing the energy reserves to support it. |

I do not like gents that resemble a sag of potatoes, as in lumpy all over the place.
Therefore, not keen on body builders, sorry!
Those who make it to the covers of Men's Health look as if they try too hard, and I suspect they would not miss a single opportunity to admire their own reflections.

I happen to work in a completely female dominated environment and most of my colleagues say that they prefer this and that (usually, tall, toned etc) but they have married guys that are completely the opposite lol Jus because people fantasise about specific characteristics, doesn't mean that's all they find attractive |

I've been considering this and if it's down to 'ideal' then for me, I would say I'm attracted to men who are a slightly improved versions of themselves. Someone who keeps the beer belly away, doesn't fake tan or shave all over and cares enough to clean his shoes. |

Thus far it seems that most women would define the ideal male physique as simply being one that looks fit, strong and healthy rather than the muscle pumped ideal so often sold by the media. |

I don't know if there is an ideal, because I don't think perfection exists nor does prolonged satisfaction, at least in my eyes.
I don't think I'd ever be satisfied, or anyone would be for that matter, because we'd always see imperfections in ourselves somewhere, or atleast that's just my take, but shit, if I HAD To pick a body I'd take off the bat, it'd be the body of Chris Hemsworth. |

It depends on the person & their frame, John hates his size because he reckons he looks like a bouncer lol!
Being a 6'3" with a 50" chest & a 36" waist he is a large guy but when people meet him they say he should put average because he is not large but at that size he is.
Its the frame of people & how they carry their weight that catches how eyes not the "this is how they should be" |
