When we enter the chatroom we normally introduce ourselves ...

"Cpl WMids, can accommodate, incl o/nite, regulars at Chameleons, She aged 26 size 8 pretty blonde, He slim, fit fun old git, seeking meets"

We thinks it's nice to let those already in the room know who we are, if it is repeated it is usually once every half hour or even once an hour.

So after more than a year of doing this, I was surprised tonight to find out I was breaking the rules and warned accordingly.

The problem .... I was asking about meets and telling people about us, I of course appologised to the moderator and won't do it again.

But it makes me worried about what we can say in the chatroom, how much info can we give people ? can we just say "read our profile" when someone asks us a question or is it ok to tell them if they ask you, is it ok to say you are looking for a meet or is that not allowed except in profiles (like telephone numbers and e-mail addresses.

Would be interested in a definitive answer on this one as the chat rules don't appear to be explicit on exactly what you can and can't say and would also be interested in other peoples opinion or experiences.

It's not a problem, we follow the rules when we know them but we do need to know them.

Repeatedly putting in a copy and pasted message could be construed as spamming the room, which isn't really allowed.

Never used and probably never will.

with all i have read in the forums it scares the life out of me.

All the do,s and donts, the banning of people, etc .

I thought it was supposed to be a fun thing ?

It doesnt sound fun to me.

And i would probably last 2 mins and be banned myself. lmao

I agree spamming (repeating the same message over and over again in a short space of time) is annoying but we dont spam, as we have been on holiday for the last 4-5 days this was our first entry into the chatroom in that time, I said it once, I would probably have said something similar half an hour later but I don't copy and paste it I write it everytime and because of that there is usually some variation in it, ie "available this weekend", "please read our profile", "new pictures added today" and so on.

But I did check with the moderator what I had done wrong and they explained it was "advertising for meets" that's what is confusing me as I did believe that this was ok to do providing it was done in an adult and sensible fashion ie not spamming the same message into the room every 5 minutes.

I don't care if we aren't allowed to do what we do, I will abide by any rules the site sets, I just want to be clear what they are please.

Thats the main problem Jed, some can handle power and others are simply overwhelmed by it and wield it like a blunt instrument, hence no chat rooms for us

jed like u i am a reg in the chat room and u dont just post that once when u enter the room, i have sat there and seen u post it quite a few times in the chat room, i cant comment on the time u talking about as i was not looking at the screen the whole time but you yourself know u spam the room with that saying more then once NOT only when u first enter the room

Trouble is as you say whats the harm... None, not untill everyone else starts doing the very same and its no longer a 'chat' room eh.. and people useing to chat can't see the wood for the tree's

Same here in the forums at times.. People come along and stick up a fancy a shag tonight ad sort of thing.. Its not the right place thats all..

Personally don't care for the chat much.. but would hate it even more if all it were used for is sending out what should be in your ad lol...

some fair comments but as I said I am happy to stop posting the introduction that I post no more than once an hour and which often varies slightly.

What I was asking was for someone to clarify exactly what is acceptable topics of chat since the moderator said the problem was not the introduction but pasting "seeking meets" in there - thier words not mine ?

Ok folks its me that Jed is referring to here because I asked you not to spam the room with requests for meets.

Now lets get 2 things straight Jed before we go any further

I don't like you and you don't like me -fair enough ? Are we all agreed on that one ?

However this was not personal, you were not being selected for specialist treatment believe me, had that been the case I'd have just banned you - end of story. Anyone who puts up cut and paste messages in the room looking for meets is told the same thing, in fact I usually say, "XXX Please don not spam the room with shit"

Further more I will continue to do so until advised otherwise - so far I have received no such advice.

Ok ?

dont worry babe ...they are all a bit fast and i go dizzy tying to read em after 5 mins ...they seem to consist of people shouting hi and jockeying for position and people masturbating on a cheap camera at 15 frames per second ....

but to each there own eh ....but i have to say i wouldnt have a clue whats allowed and not allowed .

chat rooms are ok tho to be honest i think most people who use them are single guys just after something to w**k over, i find it very hard to get meets from the chat room as they either just want you to get your bits out on cam or want you to just drop everything and meet NOW lol

. . . . . . Anyone who puts up cut and paste messages in the room looking for meets is told the same thing, . . . . . . . .

So - to be clear . . . Are people allowed or not allowed to post asking for meets ?

I have to confess. I'm an absolute fucker (dammie) for not reading "rules" as such. I'm 48. I've been round the world twice. And I'm often perceived as arrogant. But . . . . . I prefer to usually rely on my own sense of right and wrong, manners/respect, and courtesy.

So . . . I thought I maybe ought to go read the "Rules of the Chatroom"

"Rules

Here's the rules for the chatroom. These rules are enforced by the chatroom moderators (who have a * after their names). Everything that is said in the chatroom is recorded (including private messages) so to ensure that these rules are being followed.

By using your webcam you are allowing anyone in the room to view what is displayed on it. No one who is (or appears to be) under the age of 18 can be displayed on camera (even if they appear in the background) or heard on audio.

You may not display anything illegal on your webcam.

You are not allowed to play video over your camera.

Don't IM people without asking permission first.

You may not direct people on cam to do something in particular, apart from in the Directing Room which is for people who want comments and to be told what to do.

Don't use ALL CAPITALS BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE SHOUTING.

Don't post phone numbers in the chatroom.

Other members of the chatroom must be treated with respect at all times.

To protect our users from spam, do not post any web addresses or email / IM address in chat (if you need to share your email or IM address you should do so by private message) "

Or is it a case of "Because we say so" ??

People are not allowed to spam the rooms .....

Some folks put up a similar message every 10 minutes, some every 20, some in between - If you were a moderator where would YOU draw the line ? I peferer to nip it in the bud, but if anyone else has any better suggestions then I'm all ears.

I've seen the OP post more than once an hour in the past ... So do we allow everyone to put up a cut and paste message whenever they wish just in an effort to get a meet ? Where would that leave the chatrooms ? It would leave them as an extension of "Meet Today" - nobody saying anything except canvassing for meets - advertising their wares for want of a better description

Yup ! You hit the nail on the head. If you allow one, you gotta allow then all and that's when things get even messier and the room becomes clogged ...

There is nothing whatsoever preventing anyone from arranging a meet in the chatrooms however

Having spent 2 hours in there with company last night, it's the comments

"Face, Please, Face"

and

"Can I come round and help out?"

that seem to be on perpetual loop!

lol!

loll, yeah there are a few of those as well Goes with the territory, But even though there is no definitive rule stating so, if any one particular member is making a nuisance of themselves by constantly nagging at someone, then there is a case for that member to be advised re his/her conduct.

As an example, the other week a member had sent some private mail to another member and he constantly kept typing "you have mail" "You have mail", "Have you read it yet" "XXX - have you read your mail" "Are you not going to read it" - it was like a bloody machine gun firing.. In the end I asked him to stop making a nuisance of himself, then he asked what business it was of mine ! Then I banned him ..

So yes there are rules but unfortunately they cannot cater for every eventuality lol

They were fine for us, we ignored what we choose to, (which is generally the ones with no cams themselves).

It is quite odd being directed with audio by a guy sat in his garage in Victoria, Autralia though....It was like Neighbours had come alive!

I think redhot has hit the nail on the head here.

If people are just copying + pasting text into the room on a (very) regular basis then we'd class that as spamming and they'd get a 1hr block from the rooms.

I think most room users would agree this is a good thing.
