Weeding out the fakes

Hi all, we've jut spent thirty minutes looking through a search and have found at least four definite fakes using the google reverse image search and finding that the pictures are taken from porn sites. We have reported these fakes, of course, however we also realise that we could have continued down the list and probably reported another 10 at least, if not more. Are we just wasting our time reporting them? Just to have them log back on with a new fake profile probably only hours later?

OR do you all fancy a mass uprising against fakes whre we pledge to spend thrity minutes each reporting all the fakes we can find in that time to admin!? I think we know what your general response will be.....I know, I know we all have so many better things to do! It's just so frustrating to waste hours on searches full of fakes that it sometimes seems that wasting hours ing them out may be time better spent in the long run?

We couldn't be moithered with doing that - it's pretty easy to spot fakes -loads of genuine people so it's better just to message the real profiles. Z

Until the proper checks are put in at source you are probably wasting your time to be honest. For every one reported another ten will be submitted and approved. I don't bother anymore - well you can't from the mobile site anyway.

If you're bothered just filter out all non-verified and that should get rid of at least 80% of the fakes but will also get rid of genuine newbies.

Sorry, I'd rather spend that time searching and messaging people who are real on here.

Look only for photo-verified, or verified. Block anyone not verified if it bothers you.

It's easy to spot fakes! Most are single men trying to pass off as couples...why? I have no idea, but they do, but the female half of a couple should easily be able to spot them as men and women speak totally different, and proper couples 'normally' have a half decent written profile

The worst fakes are usually female profiles age under 20 and the only pic is a stunning face pic !

Probably some guy getting of by pretending he's a young stunning girl .

And there never gold or silver members

That's why I look for verified in person too. Along with a variety of pics - including face pics. Hard to fake all of that - though, I concede, not impossible.

Why have you chosen noyt to be photo verified?

I've never been in a position where I felt I needed to, maybe if I had been unfortunate not to get any meets then I may have reconsidered ..as it is I feel it's not required. My choice

Just cos we don't want to? I would think a good range of meet verifications would be more likely to show that you are genuine rather than an easily photoshopped photo verification.

have the rules on photo verified changed cos the reason I won't do it is I won't put fully naked pic of me on internet with face too. I'm not comfortable with my body at the best of times. And I know its not public but for someone i don't know to be lookin at pic of me I just don't feel happy with it

We're not photo verified because we can't see the need, we meet regularly, display a few verifications and assume that nobody would bother to pretend to be a 56 year old couple

I wont photo verify because, whilst I have pics on here and verified by meets, I will not subject myself to having my face pic along with me holding up a sign with my profile name, just in case it gets into the wrong hands, but that is just me of course (it is the internet of course!)

the obvious answer is choice, however another obvious answer is:

the face image is held on fab, the people that run the site or help run the site are human, if I was very worried about my images being exposed elsewhere I may wish to never be photo verified.The site isnt(in my opinion) going to be as secure as the pentagon(and after all..teenage hackers have cracked that ffs!)

Yeah as you're discovering the odd attitude towards photo verification is just that odd, its a private picture that afaik the only people who will ever see it are FAB admins.

However, if you have multiple verifications over a long time from various sources do you really think the photo verification requests are aimed at you ?

Its a tool to prove people are real if you have multiple verifications then you have already verified yourself and there is no need to get photo verified onto of this nor is there a need for someone with 50 odd meets to get all indignant and be like "OMG IM NEVER GETTING PHOTOT VERIFIED".

Well yes you have shitloads of meets of course you're real.

Luckily for me there are very few people who pretend to be single men, so I tend to suffer more from no-shows than fakes. However when it comes to whether someone wants to be verified or not I tend to stay out of others profiles.

It's our responsibility to vet who we meet, not anyone else's.

Just cos we don't want to? I would think a good range of meet verifications would be more likely to show that you are genuine rather than an easily photoshopped photo verification."

I am on my own profile - but didn't see the point on the couples one as we've a fair few veri's between us.

If a profile has been meet verified by someone i'm confident is genuine - that tends to be a good enough reference for me.

Never got round to it when I first joined and when I got to about 10 meet verifications decided it was pointless. If people choose not to meet me because I'm not photo verified then so be it but if it's affected me I've never noticed!

As an addendum to my last post.

I cant speak for the admins but I believe the photo verification system is there to show that there is a "real" person there on a newbie profile, Its a tool to show that someone or a couple or whatever has taken a face/body pic with a sign.

If users circumvent this and go right to meet verifications then thats all good but I dont think if you're sitting on a load of meet verifications that photo verification bears any relevance any more.

There are all tools provided by FAB to allow you the user a bit more info and help on making an informed decision on who you invest time in.

So for those of you sitting on shitloads of meet verifications I wouldn't say the photo verification question is aimed at you, nor is there a need to get so angry about it or indignant.

There are genuine people who have fake pictures on their profiles. I have met a couple at socials in the past and thought...no it cant be them then checked out pictures to find they have come from porn sites. Why who knows but life is definitely strange.

If you report a fake profile on here, all that happens id admin block you from looking at that profile.

The profile doesn't get deleted, you just cant see it anymore.

I reported two last week, which a friend of mine still says are on the site, one of them has photographs of another member on here that I took for her...

so I KNOW they are fake, so I reported it and now I am blocked from looking at that profile !

We have been on fab pretty much since the start but have never quite got around to getting photo verified. No real reason we have never done it.

Experienced couples and singles can often easily spot the fakers. However I feel sorry for newbies who are genuine as it is they that are most likely to be taken in by fakers.

I don't understand why single guys in particular don't get photo verified to improve their chances of getting meets. That is unless they are fakers after all

Personally I believe I have done all I can to prove I am not a faker. I am always happy to have a social meet before any playing, happy to cam or chat on the phone but that's just me.

Fakers are the scourge of swinging sites IMO.

Interesting discussion. Reality is that I have a verified photo but only one couple who has met me has verified that but then their profile was deleted and they rejoined under a new name. I have had several meets recently but never verified them nor did they do so to me - simply because such verifications here tend to go into too much detail which not everyone wants to share! May be better if verifications were kept to just a brief comment to verify the person or persons met do exist! But agreed there are probably people here from both sexes who are false. Happy swinging with real people. X

I meet mostly happily married men, so would never verify another persons profile or ask them to verify me.

we all have free choice, so far the few guys I have met have been real, not holograms.

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.

******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).

Every single report sent via the REPORT link is re_iewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.

PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.

Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:

Your feedback has been saved.

A website admin will shortly re_iew your feedback and take the necessary action. After re_iewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning.

By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.******
