I think it would be more a matter of critical mass.... You can pay to support the site, but paying to join would take away much of the new joiners, and potentially the site starts to die |

Timewasters come with the territory when it comes to swing sites no matter how much they charge! Its a no win situation that won't be solved by any subscription. Go join SH and see for yourself |

You get timewasters on all kinds of sites, whether they are free or require a payment. It would be nice if there were none but I'm afraid it's never going to happen.
You just have to be careful and learn to spot the fakes  |

This is the only site I have experienced with hardly any time wasters ! Other " pay for " sites have driven me mad with chancers, dreamers and pic hunters !! I pay gold for this site as it deserves support and will continue to - but as I like young newbie guys - I hope this site never starts to charge as it will put a lot off xx |

While not being a faker or a timewaster, it is very difficult to convince people that you are genuine with so many on the site. To then have to pay a monthly fee would just rub salt into the wounds.
More than happy to pay the fiver, even if it just helps to run the site.
The bulk of the timewasters don't stay for very long and I include the females in that too, albeit to a much lesser scale than the chaps.

don't underestimate the powers of admin,its also against site rules to give a fake verification,the profile needs to be reported so they can check it out |

This site is great value. The silver membership is perfect for us. We've been on another well known paid for site and it's just so full of posers and "perfect" people. We got one meet out of it while we are abroad. At least with this site the chances of meeting nice, friendly people is much higher. |

Admin dont tolerate fake profiles whether someone has the full range of site badges or not...
If theres any evidence of a profile being fake - as opposed to someone doesn't answer your message, blocks you, or anything else that pisses you off - then report it to Admin and it will be reviewed and dealt with as necessary

By possessing the ability to read. It's quite easy to pick out the fakes by applying common sense to a browse of profiles. |

You don't need to waste your time messaging someone to spot when they are fakes. Reading a profile, applying common sense, cross referencing trails of veris that go nowhere.
For ecxample, a gorgeous single women aged 20 with a gold profile and lots of face and explicit pics who says that she has an uncontrollable urge for sex, who has been on the site for over a year and has no verifications...well, you don't need to be Hercule Poirot to solve that little puzzle, do you?
There are hundreds of members on Fab that fit the profile of the obviously fake.

I tried a few other sites before settling here. Adult friend finder wasn't too bad as a site, it seemed to have plenty to keep the baying hordes distracted but plenty of people with no interest in going through with a meet.
Before that I was on that site which has about 100 different names, all designed to appeal to different demographics but using the same database of profiles. Women joined for free and the site automatically sent out "hi I'm new, wanna chat" messages which only seemed to piss everyone off. I hit something like 1500 messages in my first 24 hours.
Yes there are fake profiles and people who will try and lead you on here. But it's a darn site better than the alteratives.

1) always assume anyone you messages is a grebby, sweaty, stinky, middle aged fat guy until you have seen them is person and can prove otherwise. Phone calls and video chat can help, but again, assume they have a voice changer or are streaming someone else's video until you can confirm otherwise.
2) If it sounds too good to be true, it almost certainly will be. The turkish guy offering a free holiday to single women or the girl pretty enough to date a movie star wanting to hook up with a guy three times her age and weight.
3) If you have to pay in advance, assume it's a scam. Yes no matter how nice the Nigerian prince sounds... |
