I've noticed that a lot of ladies state in their profiles that:
I'm fine,
The weathers great,
Yes I Do come here often,
Then go on to ask folks to "catch my eye with an interesting message"
I don't know about anyone else but I find it difficult to start chatting to someone till I've built up a rapport,
Also who want to sit for ages thumbing War & Peace on their iPhone only to get blanked for their worn out digit? I know that most girls probably get thousands of texts the same from guys & it can be a pain in the ass, but just a quick "hi how are you"? Is similar to a wink and hopefully gets you to look at our profile & maybe you will like what you see
So "come on ladies" don't put us off you before we even start! |

"Strangely, same thing running thro my head this morning. I came to conclusion that the ones with such statements are probably not my type. "
Yes, I gotta admit as soon as I read stuff along those lines I tend to just click the back button & see who else is about! |

Same ... also the ones that start out with a long list of complaints and SHOUTY CAPITALS FFS!! |

i get so bored of 'how are you?' messages, that I've started to ignore them. I prefer winks, then I usually start the first message.
With men, I prefer to make the first contact and often do so. If they ignore my message, I move on to the next victim! |

Well as a single woman I'll try to stick up for them!
I've not got that on my profile but I can understand why some have. There really is nothing worse than getting several messages a day with 'hey' 'how's you' 'what you up to' 'nice day'
And I do mean several times a day added to that, a lot of men will progress through all four examples and by message five which could well be the dreaded 'what you into' question I'm tempted to use the block button. |

Just thinking back to yesterday ... I had the 'hi how are you' conversation with 14 people in real life, 3 on the phone and 4 by text. Didn't once feel I had to berate anybody because I had had the conversation previously. It is often said that you should treat conversations on here like real life ... I do that and it works for me. Conversation is one of the inbuilt filters and non suitors fall by the wayside. Must admit tho - I never leave a message as 'hi how are you' |

I have those conversations in real life too. I pass people on the street that I see often and all we will say to each other is 'Hi, you ok today' however being on a swinging site is slightly different! We're all here for a reason and usually up for a meet so I do like to have messages that are a bit more imaginative. |

And for every opinion you and I have about what this site is or is not there are 99 alternatives - the bottom line is that one size doesn't fit all. Ironically the conversation you and I have had on here might be the longest one I have this morning. Have a nice day |

True. I wasn't saying how others should use the site at all, I was trying to defend the reason behind those notes that the OP was referring to in his post. And for the record I probably won't have a conversation with anyone else for another hour or so either Have a good one |

My faves are the 'CAPS LOCK QUEENS' that start their profiles with the most ranty, aggresive, demanding text. They may thaw out towards the end but I never read that far lol. Do guys actually meet them? I'd be too scared. |

So long as there's a one liner joke included then I'll check out the profile and answer a "how are ya" message - owt else (such as the 3 "are you free today?" Messages I've had whilst being logged on this morning) gets the block button... |

There seem to be several bits to your opening post,,
You don t like to see 'i m fime' 'weathers great' etc,, as its the ladies profile its her choice what she writes as you said a little further in the thread you hit back,
The advice I can offer about you strughling to have a conversation before you have a rapport with them, every profile is unique look for that include it in your message I can t write the message for you as I ll probably see something different
If there was tone and body language incleded in your message a 'how are you ' might be a great opener, unfortunately theres no tone no smile no body language its text and at best its boring thats my twopwnnerth anyway,
Hows you op,,? |

What I'm getting at is that the profile that begins with
I'm fine,
Yes I'm here often etc......
Gives out the message that the woman is bored & frankly arrogant!
Whenever I open a conversation with a total stranger it invariably starts with hello, how are you?
The fact that this is a swinging/sex site changes that in as much that I'm supposedly only chatting to the lady with the sole purpose of fucking her!
Well, to be honest I prefer to fuck women that I genuinely like & whom genuinely like me(rare as that may be)
If I was to meet someone in a bar that I found attractive I wouldn't open a convo with 8 sentences of interesting details of how I'd like to spend a couple of hours making her squeal, I would use a little restraint & release the information in little drubs & drabs thereby heightening the anticipation & get her squirming!if I sat at the bar and caught her eye, she noticed me looking & walked over to me & said whit the same tonal inflection that I mentioned when opening this thread
IM FINE,
THE WEATHERS GREAT!
YES I DO COME HERE OFTEN!
YOU'LL HAVE TO WORK AT IT TO FIND OUT WHAT IM INTO !
I would think that her condescending tone/attitude says that she thinks she's gods gift & that she isn't interested in knowing me or anything about me ergo "fuck you ya arrogant bitch" lol
I'm fine thank you respondent! Do you come here often? I've not seen you around before! |

As an aside we've had two extremely interesting messages in the last 24 hours both in content and style but neither will be getting a positive response although we will express our appreciation. However we have in the past responded positively to a simple "hi" because the persons profile looks good. I think sadly for single guys the motto is "you just can't win" |

We don't reply to how are you or want to chat? messages from single men, women or couples. It is written on our profile that we tend to just delete them. Yet 95% of our messages are one liners.
So the ones who actually take the time to read our profile and write a decent message will always stand out and get a reply.

I think a lot of it boils down to the mood of the recipient when they open the message !
Despite this being fab, were not all constantly horny, we have lives outside that influence us.
Have a terribly stressful day at work, family grief then come home to read bland messages equals delete.
Sit down on your day off feeling horny and you may respond differently.
As for the can't win comment at least its fun trying ? |

Or pass by the profiles that put you off. Its a simple enough concept really. Seriously. |

I had a message that just said mushroom.....resulted in a nice little chat
I always check out the profile, the pics the location, the interests before I even open message
Its not a one size fits all thing with messages, and sometimes it depends on time and mood too......us women are bloody difficult creatures sometimes I wonder why men bother |

Previously, I've tried to use my profile to help guys ' themselves out', and save them wasting their own time mailing me.
However, it didn't seem to work, as I got loads of messages from guys who should have known (from my profile) that they were not what I am looking for.
So now, I take the initiative in looking for and approaching the guys I am interested in. |
