Back in the 70's when my ex wife and I decided to indulge in a bit of "extra fun" it was called "wife swapping" how the times have changed what with the internet and instant response.
In those days it was look at a mag like the profile send £3.00 of for every profile you liked and sit back and wait for a reply !!!.   .
Then if you were lucky you might get a 10% response.......my point is we should be grateful for sites like fabs for what they do and free....
A quick ..no thanks is far better than the anticipation of waiting for a week with no reply !!!then being of the boil  .
Ho hum back to the letter writing......no way !!!. |

My ex wife was well up for it so no probs there with her opening letters in fact....I used to arrive home in anticipation of her saying"we have had a few replies" and used to get so turned on knowing she had read the letters and had chosen a couple to meet. . |

me too been there done that .thats how me and my sex started off writing to a mag
then sending letters.
none of this fake profiles ,hiding behind
a pc and not time wasting either cos when we went on these sites we knew thats what we wanted,

Hmmm 10% response + magazine that needs to be full on a certain date for printing / distribution. £3 per ad reply income.
No proof no real idea, but I would be willing to bet that a lot of the 90% who didn't answer were fake profiles made up by the magazine printers.  |

A party we attended in east goscote Leicester....(incidently that was the mecca for wife swapping in the 70's) was on that theme but not car keys each woman on entry to the party was given a coloured tag which she pinned to her dress ie:: black blue pink green etc etc when the party was in full swing a large dish which was covered in foil was brought in the lounge where upon the men pulled strings as the coloured tag was pulled out it corresponded with the coloured tag pinned on the woman who then decided if she wanted sex with that guy....my ex was in her Valhalla as she ended up with a guy she had been eyeing all night.
It was all a lot of fun........ |

Yes I remember the "Loot" ad's very well.
That is how I first got into swinging. I was single at the time and met a couple from there who introduced my to my 1st swinger club (Adam & Eve Eccles) and I've never looked back |

I threw my car keys in an when my turn came to draw a set out I got a key for a A.A. box on the m1 ffs aint I lucky pmsl  |

The two big mags of the time were "new direction and experience " both charged £3.00 to forward on your mail to the advertiser then you waited to see if they got in touch......you paid by postal order or worse by cheque!!!! the companies running the mags formed off shore companies with silly names such as global marketing so that your bank manager didn't know what you were up to.
It was all hit and miss and god forbid if you advertised for a male !!!! as we did we got a sack full of around 250 replies each week as the mag was a monthly one.... work that out at £3.00 a pop. |

Thats the one desire remmber sorting the ideal meet out going down exmouth for a meet just as the petrol strikes started about 15 yrs back and having to call it off |

And that folks is why they changed the name to Swinging  "
Years a go to actually get to intercourse in swapping partners it used to be called "the ultimate".....  |

yes the joys of the top shelf contact mag and the knowing smile of the girl behind the counter.
if only mobile phones had been on the go back then - slip the mobile no in with the fiver along with the "see ya again dahling" wink lol

Looking back at those early days of swinging it never dawned on you that we would be in contact sometimes in seconds from an advert and then to actually speak to the advertiser or respondent again sometimes in seconds.
And letter writing by hand !!!!well back then it all seemed so right but now it all seems so wrong.....also many were ripped of by the 0898 scams where so called advertisers put on a message most were fake put on by the magazine owners to fleece you out of £1.00 per minute with minimum 3 minute calls............ahhhhhhhh the good old days but not in swinging !!!!!!! |
