Msn died, reappeared as Skype. What's App is an all platform text thing that uses phone numbers, KiK is similar and uses a username, as per Skype.
I have then all, prefer What's App as its reliable. The others can be flaky.

Never had a flaky time with KIK! we use it as a first contact if others have it before we actually know someone as we don't have to give numbers out. If they don't have KIK? We use email and text messages.
Wouldn't use what's app. |

Kik is good as a starter chat platform with it been username based. BUT it's best feature which everyone misses is the pictures.
You ask for a face pic anyone can send one from a gallery. This tells you. If they take it with the camera it tells you. Makes things to little safer. |
