It means fat

just look at the pics 99% of the women on here who describe themselves as curvy are clearly fat

but in their defence people don't like the word fat, its rather harsh and make you sound like you have a chip on your shoulder about your weight if you say im fat, so what would you have them put?

What I might find curvy, you might find fat

I wouldn't describe curvy as fat, I'm fat, but there is no option for that, so I've put large.

My sis is a curvy size ten, big boobs, slim waste and a bit of a bum!

I was nice and curvy at a size 14 or 16, but I guess curvy is more of a shape than size, so ignore my midnight ramblings.

Most people, yes. As far as everyone else goes, they're either not giving themselves enough credit or looking at themselves through a circus mirror.

But I think most are honest because the truth will come out on meeting so why lie?

I suppose the problem is we all see different, but I have seen loads of profiles on here where their selected body type don't match the real them, but then they may not see themselves as I do so those they may feel they are being honest I may not

its a subject that everyone will never see eye to eye on I suppose

It's all down to interpretation. If you agree with them, then you're attracted them. If you don't agree, the you move on.

Of course, sometimes, it will be painfully obvious what type they are but then other times it could go either way. A lot of it is related to self-esteem too. Sometimes, when you're told negative comments about yourself, you start to believe it.

Here's what the dictionary (the one I refer to anyway...) says:Curvy:- Shapely or Voluptuous. So...

Shapely:- Having and attractive or well-proportioned shape. Voluptuous:- Curvaceous and sexually attractive.

Curvaceous:- Having an attractively curved shape.

Anything over a size 18 I think is fat as opposed to curvy and a size 18 is generous, really it should be 16 but hey... If you don't have a smaller waist to hips or ass ratio than you're also losing the curvy status and dippin' into the fat status!

I'm pears shaped do smaller on top with a big bum & thighs. I picked large on my profile and clearly state my size and have full body pics available.

Some guys describe me as curvy, I take that as them been to polite to say fat. I'm not embarrassed about my size, I'm working very hard to change it but the label of fat isn't a nice one and more often then not an so insult. Too many guys have resorted to calling me fat when I've turned down there requests for a meet.

I agree honestly is the best policy. The description the confuses me id "rugby player build" I mean Matt Dawson is a very different build to Lawrance Dalalio so what is that then??

Blanket statements don't work - size 18 at 6ft is vastly different to size 18 at 5ft, different build types as well can make two people with the same dress size appear vastly different.

Responses further proving how subjective the terminology is.

Just like most labels you see on profiles. Everyone's estimation of what a great ass looks like for instance will differ (i scratch my head at this one a lot). Same as what an hourglass shape equates to. Or athletic build on a guy. Or even a WE/ VWE man.

Be as honest as you can upfront on your profile/ in communication to avoid potential misunderstandings. At the same time, people shouldn't delude themselves or others.

"I class myself as curvy, im not straight up and down, nor am I fat, im a proper woman with tits and a waist x"

I'm sorry but every woman has tits and a waist and is therefore, according to your definition, a 'proper woman'.

I suspect though that you mean because you go in and out in 'the right places', you're more of a woman than those who don't.

To set the record straight, the proportions of another woman's tits and waist doesn't render her any less of a woman than you.

Its too subjective on here to give a definitive answer, personally I think its a shape regardless of size but the way the sizing option works on here its leaning towards larger sizes

I just have full body pics on and then people can see for themselves because while one person on here will call me curvy another will call me slim

Whether you're 5ft or 6ft is neither here nor there. If you are of a dress size 18 you are most likely going to be considered fat irregardless of height. Don't know why the F word bothers women on here so much... There are sooo many fat women I find attractive even though I prefer the slimmer lady and so many slim women that I don't find attractive. At the end of the day it's you that counts and those that find you attractive. Deluding yourself by calling yourself curvy doesn't change anything 'cause deep down we all know what we are.

I would never class myself as curvy because I'm not. But I don't get my knickers in a knot over those who do.

If someone wants to meet a woman who has 'curvy' on her profile and no clear, full length photo then surely all they need to do is ask for one and then make up their mind on whether they're interested? Hardly rocket science.

I don't like the term 'fat' though (even though it's accurate) as it has developed an extremely negative connotation especially as it's often tagged with an equally negative adjective (fat ugly, fat lazy etc). I just say I'm overweight generally. On here, if we're doing private meets I give my dress size and there is a full length photo of me on our profile. I'm not out to embarrass myself by deceiving people.

It's not a problem in clubs because people can see what size I am.

of course fat is a very harsh word and would never use it to describe anyone generally speaking. I'm using it on here as a point of reference. Babe you have the right attitude and its women like you that I find attractive 'cause you won't have too much of an issue with your body so will probably emit more sexiness

The degree of curviness alters on each individual.

I could describe myself as curvy, slim or athletic.

Curvy should mean big boobs small waist and a bum

I've seen some beasts class themselves as curvy

Its no different than men who discribe themselves as athletic, with no muscles definition at all.

I'm not slim but nor am I fat, size 14 with an hourglass shape...therefore I (along with most people who know me) describe myself as curvy. Marilyn Monroe, Kelly Brook, JLo, Beyonce, Nigella Lawson & Holly Willoughby are ladies I'd class as curvaceous, not overweight.

It is self-esteem issues. Some people here listen to others waaaaay too much. As a consequence, they change their body type to appeal to the masses, which is a losing battle due to people's preferences being so random.

Also, when a person lacks confidence, that itself is not attractive. So you've shot yourself in the foot before bodies are considered.

So the next time someone says "that's not your body type." Just tell them to jog on. You didn't ask them!

"Anything over a size 18 I think is fat as opposed to curvy and a size 18 is generous, really it should be 16 but hey... If you don't have a smaller waist appear vass or ass ratio than you're also losing the curvy status and dippin' into the fat status!

Blanket statements don't work - size 18 at 6ft is vastly different to size 18 at 5ft, different build types as well can make two people with the same dress size appear vastly different. if you're 6ft and a size 18 you are fat! My wife is 5' 11 and she's a size 12 with very wide hips and ample butt... If she were to be a size 18 she would look and be fat."

Think this is really off the mark I am 5"10 and a size 16 would say I am overweight but would consider myself curvy as opposed to fat!! Blanket statements like this don't work!!

I think if you have a defined waist you are curvy no matter what size/height/weight you are!! Xxx

"These threads are only a blue touch paper if people bite......and some just come in like a moth to a flame and then wonder why they get burnt

Fair point. A lot of the time, it stems from self esteem issues (however slight or buried they might be), but i guess that is a topic for another time eh?

It is self-esteem issues. Some people here listen to others waaaaay too much. As a consequence, they change their body type to appeal to the masses, which is a losing battle due to people's preferences being so random.

Also, when a person lacks confidence, that itself is not attractive. So you've shot yourself in the foot before bodies are considered.

So the next time someone says "that's not your body type." Just tell them to jog on. You didn't ask them!"

very very true, the whole subject is incredibly boring , if you go by what others tell you on here you would go crazy!

"Here's what the dictionary (the one I refer to anyway...) says:Curvy:- Shapely or Voluptuous. So...

Shapely:- Having and attractive or well-proportioned shape. Voluptuous:- Curvaceous and sexually attractive.

Curvaceous:- Having an attractively curved shape.

Don't see the word 'Fat' in there....??

ted.

curvy isn't fat

but the question was what does curvy mean on here and lets be honest most fat women choose to class themselves as curvy

if your nipples point to the floor, you have a over hang on your belly and rolls in your back, im sorry your not curvy your fat "

That's me sorted then

Same here. I'm fat and perfect with that. I don't use "curvy" to describe myself, nor euphemisms like "chubby" nor clinical degrading terms like "overweight". Over what weight? But I digress.

If there was the option to select "fat", I would choose it. But I choose "fabulous" because that's what I feel like regardless of size. People call me "curvy" perhaps because they still think fat is an offensive word and they usually associate it with fat, bald, redfaced hooligans and not ladies. I understand why girls feel confident about calling themselves BBW, but when people use the term to describe me I block them immediately. To me it sounds like "oh, she's large but she's got a pretty face" or shit my godmother would say. Ugh.

On my profile description I do say I'm fat, and show my full body pictures, etc. Then again, I also mention I fancy "curvy" women because I understand not everyone is as confident as me nor has awareness about fat politics, etc. they still feel conflicted about their bodies and would find it offensive if I said "I like fat chicks, you're so fat and hot". But then again, I like people who fit in the traditional definition of curvy (big tits and bum) regardless of their overall size. I would bonk Nigella Lawson and Christina Hendricks (traditional dictionary curvy girls) just like I would bonk Scarlett Johansson (skinny) and Rebel Wilson (fatty) equally. Dunno. It's all a matter of confidence and ways you refer to yourself at this stage of confidence.

But then I see men refer themselves as "curvy" when it's a traditional feminine definition?

"Curvy should mean big boobs small waist and a bum

I've seen some beasts class themselves as curvy

Its no different than men who discribe themselves as athletic, with no muscles definition at all.

Makes you wonder what other lies they tell If they and pull that one."

BEASTS?? Charming!

"Some say the female body has curves some say slightly overweight! Just wondered your take on it!?

I think of someone as curvy if they have a well defined waist. There are a lot of thinner women who are also curvy. I consider myself curvy but i am also overweight. I like the sound of curvy better lol"

Totally agree, lol!

It would appear that curvy on here in most cases is another word for fat, our take on curvy is hourglass'ish

Very true also i have a sister who is just over a foot shorter than me she is a size 10 im a size 16 and we look around the same build so height does factor in it for sure, she always says she would rather be a size 16 and tall anyday as she would have nice legs not little dumpy ones

John is a 6'3" 50" chest & 36-38 waist & i am a size 18 & depending on tops a 20 so we are large not curvy lol!

Does it effect our meets...no not in the slightest, we do get the odd crazy people that state they only meet women up to a size 14 contact me for meets...why when they don't like big people lol!

Hourglasses have changed in modern times. Something to do with bigger sand or maybe more of it.

There's a perfect picture which shows the "standard" body shapes women tend to be defined by. Google it.

Even then, most women are different, and even amongst those with similar body shapes, there are a vast amount of differences.

And that....is a good thing.

" I wouldn't describe curvy as fat, I'm fat, but there is no option for that, so I've put large.

My sis is a curvy size ten, big boobs, slim waste and a bit of a bum!

I was nice and curvy at a size 14 or 16, but I guess curvy is more of a shape than size, so ignore my midnight ramblings.

"

Well you look good to me x

Curvy to me is flat in the right places and nice bum and boobs. There are an awful lot of ladies on here that state they are curvy but are indeed just fat. Not that being fat is a bad thing as some find that more attractive than slim women. Think fab should maybe put a lot more categories in for both men and women
