Now, years ago on t'interweb, MFM used to mean Man on Woman on Man (no interaction between the men, both only focused on the woman). And MMF meant Man on Man on Woman (interaction between the men, as well as the woman.
Now, I see loads of people putting MMF on their profiles... do they really mean that?! What about you??!! |

Some do. Some don't. Some don't know the difference, which is why I have felt for a long time that a glossary of terminology would be very useful on here.
People assume everyone knows that all sorts of terms mean, when the reality is very different.

Where does this come from?
TBH I've only heard the MFM used recently and in my mind it conjures up a picture of two guys desperate to keep the woman in between them in case accidental skin contact with the other guy unleashes some sort of bisexual genie that they can't get back in the bottle |

Oh we haven't realised that the letters need to be in a certain order and mean different things. How niave are we!!!
So our amazing MMF's have actually been MFM's with no interaction between the males, although very comfortable with each other.
You learn something everyday!!! |

Aint it just as easy to sort out before the meet whst every one wants to happen and if two men are going to get into bed with one woman and get so close they need to be able to except the two men may end up touching each other even if not ment god it aint going to turn them not unless they find it so enjoyable |

I didn't realise that anyone put too much precedence on how the letters were arranged until I saw a thread about 6 months ago.
I haven't been swinging long term but I've seen 80s documentaries about it, about the use of contact magazines, putting keys in a bowl, the urban pampass grass myth etc, so maybe the arrangement of the letters was a strict code then. When I've seen the letters on here I havent come to any conclusions on whether it means bi play, I just know they are into threesomes.
But then I didn't realise in the BDSM world the spelling of dom/domme or the use of capital Ds and lowercase Ds. |

I would concur as I thought mmf and mfm were the same, just 'spelt' differently |

It comes from years ago, I was an early(ish) adopter of using the internet, was on it about 18 years ago or so, and that was definitely what was meant then...! I suppose it's just like language, things change in meaning over time. I still think it's a useful way of indicating what you REALLY want though |

"I prefer MMF but only if males are bi makes it more interesting and no hang ups when males touch which we all know will happen even bi accident lol "
It's more relaxing for all concerned when the guys don't mind touching. |

Yes this please even seasoned swingers might need to refresh... I find myself looking at urban dictionary loads after reading forums... much I would like clarity on |

If you are going to use MFM to mean no contact between the males then MFF must mean no contact between the male and the second female, also MMF = no contact between one male and the female.
That's why, IMO, it doesn't work as a separate acronym. |

I used to always refer to MMF until one guy asked for clarification and thought I meant a bi threesome eg the men
I then did a thread asking for opinion and Ruggers told me it was correct to say MFM for no male contact lol
