Does using a vapour cigarette (e-cig) now make me a non smoker?

Interesting point, I notice some buildings allow them and others don't so there does seem to be some question. If there's no smell of tobacco then really there shouldn't be a problem, a lot of ex smokers play with pens so why not. I did try one a friend was using recently it did taste just like a fag. |

with the carcinogens being absent it makes me feel better, but the dreaded nicotine is still there which is why I'm addicted. But eventually I will step down on to a lower dose and hopefully leave it all together. Fingers crossed.  |

I recently went to a club and someone was smoking one there, i still noticed a slight smell, and didn't enjoy the fact they were allowed to do so in a public place.

well done. One of the reasons I want to stop is to increase my cardiovascular, I'm cautious about the liquids that are available for use some of them taste really nice but some are awful. And there is the possible fake liquids that are on the market which is of concern. Better to stick with reliable brands. Do hope I can get to 12months. |

Ive smoked 20-30 a day for 18 years.
The wife and I have been on E Cigs for 4 weeks now - and doing well.
E CIGS are 1% as harmful as cigarettes and up till 5 mins ago when I started reading this thread thought we were doing a grand job!
Addict - yes - I still want a "real fag" - but the E CIGS are doing us just fine! |

I gave up smoking three years ago, deciding that I was going to stop being addicted to nicotine and that the smoking part was just a side issue. I won't say it was easy but it was it was worth it in the end. As to vapers I don't consider them to be smokers , just people who choose to continue to take nicotine. If someone was on the patches or gum they would not be classed as a smoker. Now, if I can just stop drinking six cups of coffee a day.... |

haha, just don't want to make it harder than it already is, done the patches with nightmares, the gum with jaw ache, the spray with vomiting. And as im a carer for the past 20 yrs plus I've got to keep my stress levels low as possible. Like you say it's all the other vices next. |

We've just gone onto vapours, have to say we love them and enjoy them far more than a normal smoke, also no smell or harmful secondhand smoke either, are we non smokers, in our opinion yes, are we still hooked on the nictoine yes, we just choose to take it in a safer way !! |

Oh right! So people that have quit cigs but are using patches, are still classed as smokers in your opinin then? Seeing as there is nicotine in them! Pish.
Using e-cigs does not make you a smoker as there is no smoke TO smoke. It is VAPOR that is inhaled and exhaled. Which is why it is legal to use them in places where smoking is banned. And, doctors don't class you as a smoker if you use e-cigs. But they're only paid professionals, so what do they know eh! |

Try Ukvapers forum. You can get all the info there on the best e-cigs to use (not the disposable ones) and the best liquids, how to vape for far less than smoking costs. They can also dispel the myths and lies spread about by the tobacco and pharmaceutical companies.

lol, just burst my bubble. I know there in there earliest stage but on reading the amount of nitrosamines are minimal compare to smoking cigarettes. I do hope so anyway. Don't quote me though, I've got to find out more on the grey areas. Just feel better compared to smoking.

You won't be breathing any of the nicotine in as it is absorbed instantly in to the mouth lining and lungs of the person vaping it, what you are smelling is the flavorings, same as if someone sat next to you with a cup of strong coffee, the caffeen in it wouldn't affect you.
As a duel fuler (I vape and smoke) and from the opinion of several non smoking friends we find the smell of flavorings a lot more pleasant than stale fags. If I were you speak to your vaping work buddie and ask if he has any with less flavor if it bugs you that much and congratulate him on making the effort to improve his life |

I started on the e cig 2 weeks ago with the hope maybe this may help me stop smoking and had only 3 real cigs in this time i love it as after many times of failed atempt of stoping this seems to be the best would say as my profile says yes im a smoker but am trying to stop but im on the fruity e juices and the cola one mmm i love them but now thinking do they do main meal e juices as i have a sweet tooth and found i aint eating sweet things these days to so great for the diet to as many people stoping smoking tend to eat more but i aint so think its helping me in every way |

They are a lifesaver and a Godsend. I started using them over 6 months ago. I had a relapse three months ago when I bought and smoked a packet of 20. Apart from that...zilch. That's 20 fags in more than 6 months.
To anyone out there, don't delay. The well-rewarded anti-tobacco 'fake charities' will try to scare you but that's because they fear for their jobs.

Very true and good for you 20 cigs in that time great going keep it up and hope 1 day there is a perfect answer for us all to stop but will never happen so i will keep at vaping my e cig till the day i no longer need it and i feel the difrence even now in alot of ways |

my fella uses e cigs and neither me nor my daughter can smell anything. a good point my daughter made is used marijuana by people with cancer to ease pain are not classed as drug addicts. |

Ive heard ppl are making tinctures with cannabis and are getting higggghh maaan! Haha
As i smoked silk cut which is 0.5mg nicotine im using the 0.6mg oil. Ppl are using higher mg vaps then trying to cut down the mg...i dont see why they want to increase their intake of nicotine. Read the side of your former cig pack then choose the vap mg which is closest to yours |

Well I am an ex smoker. Don't allow smoking in my house. But friends of mine who use e cigs use them in my living room. It depends which angle you look at it from, from your point of view no you don't smoke but are still addicted. From my point of view I can't smell it and its not doing me any harm you puffing away so |

"Electronic Cigarettes are found to contain an anti-freeze component known as Diethylene Glycol. It is toxic to humans and can cause health worries on inhalation. This is one of the major Electronic Cigarette side effects.
Toxicity
Other than Diethylene Glycol, e-cigarettes also contain cancer-causing compounds like nitrosamines. If the cigarette accidentally breaks, humans may be exposed to such harmful components.
They're all just as bad as each other! lol, just burst my bubble. I know there in there earliest stage but on reading the amount of nitrosamines are minimal compare to smoking cigarettes. I do hope so anyway. Don't quote me though, I've got to find out more on the grey areas. Just feel better compared to smoking.

"Your still a smoker in my eyes. I'd be more than a little annoyed to meet a 'non smoker' who had to go out to have a draw on an e fag.
Bit like vegetarians who still eat fish...
But they arent vegetarians...ones who dont eat fish, milk etc are vegans...maybe we should have new criteria
1.wont meet smokers
2.wont meet fish eaters
3.wont meet ppl who fart
4.wont meet ppl who breathe

Once 12 mths have passe you are officially a non smoker.. We had to have urine tests and a throat swab to prove it that was for life ins purposes . Been a no smoker now for coming up 7 yrs,,, best that I ever did, good luck |

Ive heard ppl are making tinctures with cannabis and are getting higggghh maaan! Haha
As i smoked silk cut which is 0.5mg nicotine im using the 0.6mg oil. Ppl are using higher mg vaps then trying to cut down the mg...i dont see why they want to increase their intake of nicotine. Read the side of your former cig pack then choose the vap mg which is closest to yours "
same brand as me.. Hmm interesting about the cannabis though |

Surely the reason people choose not to meet smokers is due to the smell and taste of these who do smoke.
E-Cigs do NOT produce smell so this is why we claim on here we don't smoke and boy does it increase you chances. |
