It is not about if it was in "jest", its pretty obvious it was not in jest. it was a way for them to create a exciting and fun scenario that they were after, there was nothing wrong with the wording or content. Unfortunately some people miss the obvious and become judgmental on there sofas! Never fails to amuse me some people on the forums, but then that is half the fun!

It's not about being an old fart. What you may find funny and just a laugh, others don't it's as simple as that. It would be a very boring world if we all thought exactly the same. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And as this is a forum you should expect differing responses.

If you are going to post, something you should be grown up enough to accept peoples view whether you agree or not.

and that perception of what you have posted will influence people's responses..

then they will and are entitled to give their views as they see it..

all part of posting whatever on a public forum, you will have differing views...

you cant control it and if you dislike some of the responses so much that you describe folk as 'farts'..

The problem is when you do a post, someone responds with there own comment, usually contradicting the original post , then once you reply to the contradicting post , all hell breaks out lol, most people can't take a comment about their comment, Don't bother replying to this comment please lol

Ive posted before now sometimes what I thought was a serious thing for me, but sometimes it ends up full of jokes and messing around. I dont know what your first post was about but ive got used to it now and have found if you are in serious need of help and advice they will step up and take it seriously

I sometimes think once one becomes comfortable and familiar within a forum, they can forget why they're here and what made the forum so welcoming to them in the first place.

I would leave the forum to all the witches and their men followers around their sad little cauldron and just private message people who you have a chance to get normal fun convo with and not be judge cause you spelt something wrong or you say something they don't like!

I don't agree. There are a small handful of regular posters that appear to get satisfaction from bashing others. However, there is no clique as they quite often turn on each other.

I don't think this forum is any different to other non swinging ones I'm on. The best and worst bit about forums is that everyone has an opinion. What someone finds funny, someone else won't.

I also think that the word clique gets banded about a lot on here and I don't see it. I see a lot of regular posters that over the years have become friends and developed certain ways if interacting, but this is not done may the exclusion of others, so personally I don't see it as a clique.

As for the spelling thing, my posts are usually riddled with typos (fat fingers & a iPhone) and no-one has ever mentioned it, however I share the view that when posting on a forum every effort should be made to minimise errors and not to use text speak, one forum I use actually has that as on of there rules.

The main thing to remember is that not everyone likes the sane things, I think the "rate me" threads are in very bad taste regardless if me been a Swinger and on a swinging site, but my dislike if then is in no way ruining my swinging lifestyle as posting on this forum has very little bearing on it.

Maybe you don't see the clique but I for one have and I have had many tell me the same their just upsetting people rather than starting a controlled debate on a matter it's vile and not what swinging is about, personal people don't use the forums correctly therefore should not be on here.

I agree with what you are saying about being shot down. However, I think clique is the wrong term. A clique is a small exclusive group of friends. I think these are all individuals that just get off on bullying

There might or might not be cliques on this forum, as this is a website then they will form over time its the nature of the beast, railing against them now days is trying to close the door after the horse is 3 miles down the road.

Regardless of the cliques, of which I am not or wouldnt care to be a member, the OP had a pretty pointless childish thread (yes RATE my xxx is childish and attention seeking) and was told this, people who browse these forums get quite bored of the same sort of attention seeking low content dribble ending up on here and will voice that.

Just because many different people are fed up at the same time voicing a similar opinion doesnt automatically make it a clique just means the general tide is turning against those/these low content / worth threads and the justification that its only a bit of "fun" can be used to cover almost any discretion a line in the sand has to be drawn somewhere or the forums would denigrate into the monkeys throwing poo at each other in the zoo stage, thus making them worthless and entering into a vicious cycle of diminishing the content even further.

Reading some of the comments aimed at the OP on that thread, I think we've already reached that stage.

I'll say again, I think some forget what made the forums so welcoming for them to post in the first place.

I pop on and off here as I too get bored of some threads, those often repeated and those more personally aimed ones by regular forumites.

General rule is, if you don't like then avoid, when new posters see certain threads are ignored they will act accordingly.

But who are you to say the rate me thread is childish? Maybe this is how they get theirs kicks and his wife likes the attention if people don't approve of the thread there is plenty more dribble as you say to read, why do people feel the need to be rude? And yes the is a clique cause someone else has now started a thread to take the piss outta of them and everyone is jumping on the ban wagon? This small group or clique which ever is preferred bring shame to swinging and I for one would not ever want to meet someone of the calibre I think the rates thread was much more sophisticated than the mouths on any of them folks yuk!

It's taken me about half an hour to read this thread and the other related one. To anyone tempted to do the same I'd say go do something else lol. All you need to know is lots of people have spat their dummies out

The irony is that you are doing exactly what you say your against , which is slamming someones opinion or postings ??

People have a right to their opinion and thoughts you may not agree but thats the forums and what its all about

How am I doing the same other than pointing out a fact? There is no need for this thread anyhow but people have made a couple feel crap cause they can't write what they want in a forum cause the bullies jump at them and the most probably won't ever come in here again!

We have been on fab ever since it first started and it's always been the same anyways I'm wasting my breath you know who u are in the clique and I do wish you all well in making whoever you can feel rubbish and having the mods to back you up and take down people's threads about the clique

I don't think this forum is any different to other non swinging ones I'm on. The best and worst bit about forums is that everyone has an opinion. What someone finds funny, someone else won't.

The main thing to remember is that not everyone likes the sane things...

I can understand how you may see that there is a clique, and in some cases there may be one which has a few in or it could just be seen as they have the same mentality and post similar comments. Not everyone likes the same things and one will see a negative comment and others will join in like a pack of wolves. It is uncomfortable to see on any site, let alone an adult site, and I know who will appear and continue to post something negative.

I did post on the other thread that I basically found it nasty and uncalled for and I would say it again. I give my opinions and will not tolerate bullies especially on here.

As the last part of the above quote says, post and try to change things.

I have lost count how many times I've said and sound like a stuck record, but posts like this and the other thread from the OP shows why not many post on forums and personally, I find that quite sad that some won't post on here due to a small number of posters.

In a nutshell, to the OP, Darwen's and lurkers post and be dammed, some will like a post others might. Ignore the negative nellies.

If you feel like people are breaking the rules report their post (eg. They criticise your profile when you haven't asked for a profile review or they personally attack you etc.)

We were all new and have all had threads that haven't gone well. Just keep posting and don't take too much to heart on here.

Some have thicker skins than others x

Try not to let it put you off. You are allowed to post what you like when you like as long as it is within rules.

Your thread was within rules and it was the rude and abusive people who were breaking rules.

If I had been here I would have sorted the thread you were talking about....but if it ever happens again and a mod isn't about REPORT the posts and Admin will sort it out.

For the people who don't like rate me threads......there really is a simple solution....don't open them to read them and let people who do enjoy them enjoy them in peace without abuse and bitchy posts or you may end up on the end of a ban.

All threads have been removed PLUS the ones started taking the piss.
