Hi folks.
I am looking for tips on how to take pics when all you have is a smartphone (with no forward facing camera) and no full length mirrors.
I would like to take some "arty" torso, back and other types.
Also can anyone recommend a good Android camera app that has a timer?

With difficulty. But I tend to use the 'take a shitload of pics and a couple might be ok' school of photography. Can't recommend an app sorry my phone has a timer. Oh and experiment with a place to prop your phone up  |

Since my ban is over  Here is what I did.
Phone had the android app "Camera Zoom"... it's got voice activation 
Rested said phone on the plastic thing that are used to cover 3-pin plugs
Had naff webcam pointing at my phone screen, so I could see it on my monitor.
Made a noice
