"Hmmmmm, I have a slightly different view on this, probably because of a lack of knowledge, but hey ho thats never stopped me before!!
Money seems to be the problem to me, for several reasons, one is that I assume if the prostitute earns a living from her profession then they have to be available for work at relatively short notice, I guess a phone call or an escort service books the appointment, I guess this will be asap as I doubt many guys will think " ohhhh I think I'll book a prostitute for three weeks on Friday", I'd guess its usually "i'm horny, lets see who is available"?
If the protitute has a swingers meet organised and a paying punter phones and offers money then the choice is cancel the swingers meet, earn money, or refuse the money and go ahead with the meet. I'd guess the cash wins most times, so cancelled meets might be more common ?
Also I believe that almost everything I have read on the subject suggests that a higher than average percentage of prostitutes are addicted to IV type drugs, this is expensive and causes perhaps a lack of judgement when the "next fix" is needed? Large amounts of cash would be required to fund that type of lifestyle, so when a request is made for some type of less safe sex is made even the most well meaning of these prostitutes may make a choice based on the need for cash rather than sexual health. I'm guessing this isnt common but i'm pretty sure its possible, the guys who pay these protitutes might be less willing to consider them as people that deserve open and honest conversations regarding previous sexual health, so again from what I have read on this subject there are serious risks involved to both the prostitutes and the men who pay for these services.
If there is a higher than average risk in terms of sexual health ( I know a lot of these prostitutes are very concious of sexual health) but I'm guessing the ones more addicted to drugs and in turn perhaps show poorer judgement than others all it needs is one, then the men who meet her then pass that on ( as we all know condoms HELP but dont give 100% protection) .
Anyway the way I thought about this was this, if your last meet had a verification from a guy that was verified by a genuine and honest well respected member on here would that make you feel slightly more comfortable?
On the other hand if his last verification came from a heroin addict who is willing to do almost anything for cash as a result of that addiction then how would you feel?
Of course i'm making this an exaggeration for effect but if it takes one bad apple to spoil the barrel.
PS the businessman in me also has a couple of concerns ,
If you have goods or services that you are selling then why give them away?
If I had a customer purchase something from me then later on found out he could have had it for free then I'm guessing they would be less than happy, in the type of world that prostitution is carried out in ( tends to be private, one on one I imagine) then the safety aspect from an unhappy punter might come into place ?
Also if as been evident in here ( a few threads mentioned that they have seen the same screen names / profiles in here and on escort sites )then the guys who browse escort sites might see this too, the natural reaction would be " wait, if I contact through escort site I will have to pay, if I contact through Fab then I dont have to pay",
The natural result of this would be more of the type of guy looking for a prostitute might join here in the hope of a freebie?
I dont think an increase in guys who think along those lines is desireable for anyone.

Simple tip, don't read the sun, or other red tops. 
I have worked the doors of a 'massage parlour' and what you describe is the sun and not real life.
working girls may swing because, work is satisfying the customer, where as here he/she may be looking for self satisfaction, so very different.
would you also be concerned meeting a plumber? after all, they're few and far between and so if they got a call out they may think of the cash before the meet. 
the guys that pay the lady from another site, I wouldn't imagine would be the type of guy that the lady would see in her private sexual life.
Most of the ladies I met whilst working the doors, where head strong, knowing what they wanted and didn't want, and how to deal with a nuisance guy, so in that aspect it wouldn't be a bad thing to have more on this site, lol, they certainly wouldn't be posting complaints about other users and their ways of messaging etc. 
May I add, bareback, drugs (including alcohol) do go on in swinging unfortunately.
just because a lady is an escort doesn't mean drugs play a part in her life, some have children and are single parents, some at Uni and trying to earn as quick and when they can.
I will also say though, that before I worked the doors at a parlour I had very similar beliefs to you, I learnt that wasn't the case, those on drugs tend to be the street girls, and I wouldn't think they would swing at all.
