Why wouldn't you get tested.. even if you had protected oral and protected sex you should still get tested.
I go every 4 to 6 weeks depending... Off their later. X |

Whether you use a condom or not is irrelevant, any sexual contact, with it without protection, carries a risk, the condom puts the odds better in your favour that's all, it doesn't eliminate it
We do what we do because we enjoy it accepting that small risk, just as drivers, smokers, people who enjoy red meat etc accept risk
You accept the risk and get tested periodically or have no sex at all, there really is no middle option |

Every 3 months like clockwork without fail. 
It's more a peace of mind thing for me as I always have and always do practice safe sex, but like had already been mentioned, that doesn't eliminate the risks entirely unfortunately!  |

They don't swab anymore, unless you're presenting symptoms. Just a pee test now and bloods. |

It depends where you go.....where my partner goes it's full hit each time as symptoms not always evident but where I go it is just a wee test ....we go 6 monthly but offset so one is tested each 3 months and always use condoms on a meet |

I used to go at least every 6 months. The only reason I haven't gone for awhile is because I haven't been, erm, active for awhile.
Time to book myself in again to start afresh. It's just sensible and responsible for yourself and your partners. |

Yes, get tested regularly, every six months when not meeting/playing, and around every three months when we are playing. Always use condoms for sex but not for oral, tried it and hate the taste of even the flavoured ones. |

To be honest they're not the best, the Pasante large ones, I don't find them very stretchy. They may well be large but can take some putting on.

Gonorrhoea, chlamydia with pee test or swabs. Blood test for HIV syphilis and hepatitis if you ask. Don't test for herpes unless you have symptoms, then it's a swab. Blood tests not usually offered due to high number of people who test positive but have no symptoms. If you are worried, just go ask for everything, the staff are well trained and usually sympathetic.

Every 3 months without fail.. Even though I play safe now I get tested for everything.. Plus you get a few little pressies thrown in too.. Thumbs up to the NHS!!

I'm shocked that most people posted 3-6 months! You're either not meeting much or taking a lot of risks.
But then as there's a testing charity performing full M.O.T tests at the Greenhouse every Sunday it's a whole lot easier for me to do super regular screening.
Some results are given there 30 mins later & others are texted to you on the Thursday following.
I just ooze confidence as I know I'm clean. |

well i'm shocked to see no ones posted to say they don't get tested
now the burning question is how many people who say they do go regular don't
call me an old cynic but this is just one of those questions that seems pointless asking as people will always say what you want to hear  |

Once every three months.
I think these threads are good as someone new to the site can see its the norm to get tested. One I saw when I first joined certainly prompted me. However I found it difficult to find a local clinic as every time I looked online just private clinics came up. I now use my local hospital which has a GUM clinic. |

Getting tested just means you'll be able to get treatment if you have picked up a bacterial infection (eg chlamydia, ghonorrea etc) but if you've been unlucky to get a virus such as HIV, HPV, hepatitis B or herpes here is nothing you can do apart from continuing to have protected sex. So testing is not the silver bullet of safe sex, don't kid yourselfs. |

That's not what I mean. Testing does not have a protective effect on the individual who does it. It will of course minimize the chances of him/her passing some infections to others if they abstain or wear protection while infectious. However, if someone is having unprotected sex no amount of testing is going to prevent that individual from picking something up... |
