Blatantly inspired by other thread !
How well do you handle being given A compliment. Do you think they are telling truth or just throwing a cheesy line , if you feel it is true do you play it down modest like or just say thanks shyly ? |

Glad I inspired you
I tend to be surprised!! Then I hide my surprise with a joke: "ohh yeah, I hear this all the time" |

i like being complimented sometimes if i think they mean it, usualy say thank you because thats being polite.
i think you can usualy tell if they mean it or not, either way, its not that important. |

I read ages ago that English women are reallybad at rreceiving compliments so since then ive thanked someone confidently if they give me a compliment. Sometimes I get compliments from people at work where ots not appropriate. ...then I either pretend I didn't hear or change the subject. |

Oh and I absolutely hate fake smarmy compliments. ...was out on sat and a guy approached me when my bf went to the toilet.....he tried it on with the cheesiest most cringe worthy style I felt like I was in a shirly valentine movie. Plus I also think that the guy must think im so stupid if they honestly think im going to fall for what they say so in that case I simply said im not interested and turned away. |
