can anyone tell us why people have non smokers or wont meet smokers on there profile , and when weve met them thay smoke and more to the point thay`ve met smokers (we are smokers ) ? we are very confused |

One of our regular couples meet smokers but on their profile they dont smoke
Noticing this the other day i asked why their profile said they did not smoke when we know they do lol
They said that when they had joined the site they had given up but then started again and had not got round to changing it lol |

There seem to be some rather black and white statements on these forums.
Our profile says that we don't smoke - because we don't. It also says that we won't meet smokers, because we would prefer not to.
When you check up on the people we have met there are some who smoke, and we met them because they were worth it, and they didn't smoke in our presence, and arrived peoperly washed and never had a hint of smoke smeel on them.
If we PREFER not to meet smokers, then that is our choice, but please don't call us liars if one or two slip through. We live in a (fairly) free country, and don't have to answer to other people for our choices.

Agreed. Some people just seem quick to judge or be confrontational.
I don't smoke, MissDarcie does but not to a great extent, neither of us would be very happy meeting somebody that smokes a lot, conversely MissD is more than capable of lasting a night without smoking and won't turn up stinking like an ashtray (believe me, if she did we wouldn't be together), so it's a huge grey area.
Unfortunatley, unlike drinking where there is at least a degree of flexibility on the profile, smoking is black and white on here. |

guys make me laugh when they message me and i send one back saying your profile says you not meet smokers and every single time the reply that comes back is.....oh does? it sorry dont know why it says that i will meet you lol |

we do smoke and understand its a kind of grey area when it coms to meeting.we only smoke cigarettes but not the funny stuff.
we dont want to give up and love a good drink and a good smoke with like minded people so if your out there people come on down lol xxx

No, for my part, probably not.
If a person is smoking in a party/social situation, they would smell - and taste - of smoke and I would not be eager to get close.
In a meet situation, where the smoker knows my preference, he would turn up washed and with clean teeth, probably chewing some gum. I would have no problem coping with that.

I myself am a smoker. When I meet with people who dont smoke I wont smoke in their house and 9 times out of 10 wont even go outside for one. I respect those who dont smoke and would not expect them to put up with me lighting up. |

I smoke and do not smoke in my own house, so wud respect a non smoker and totally agree with what you said |

We arnt smokers never have been, but our kids and friends are, so if pwoplw qant to have a ciggie when they come to us not an issue, hell even the smell of a long gone ciggie can be kinda sexy ( yes I know I'm a freak) but I don't like the nes smell of smoking u know the bad smell that's new xx we do meet smokers but pls repect our home and smoke outside same as the kids do when they are up xxxx if u understand this well done lol !! |

Probably the best answer thus far on here. From my point of view, I don't smoke; in fact I'm allergic to tobacco smoke such that ther worst case has had me ending up in hospital fighting for breath.
But there are diehard smokers who when they light up, seem to think the non-smokers are kicking up too much of a fuss. It isn't so much the smoking but rather the image of walking around smelling like a mobile ashtray! It just takes a bit of care and pride in your appearance to allay the fears that non smokers have. |

i have a "good" friend who is a none smoker and he actually has told me that i dont smell like an old ashtray,
As a smoker i do take pride in myself and my home and always try and consider a non smokers view.
They should also try and considers ours.
yes its a filthy habit and i wished i didnt do it but its also an addiction and very hard to break, well done to those who do.
but i do get fed up with all the constant critisism leveled at those who either choose to smoke or find it hard not to.
The worst kind are ex smokers for some reason ?
oh and many know that the busiest place in chams is outside with the smokers.
so we cant all be bad ! |
