and no its not a typo... when you wink what do you mean?
Are you trying to initiate conversation, or just let someone know you're interested?
I tend to bulk delete my winks, as I find a wink and no chat lazy... should i pay more attention to them? |

We always look at winks....have even met when it started as I wink. I don't think anyone winking is being lazy...just see it as an initial "I'm interested, are you?". |

We very rarely wink and when we do, it is usually in return to one we have received.
But we don't always check them so do prefer a message.
See winks as a way of testing the waters.

we see it like this, if someone winks us, we'll have a look at their profile, if we like what we see we can then wink back or send a message, either way its an ice breaker and gets the ball rolling |

I dont get this winks are lazy. they are what they are. a nod to someone to say they like the look of them or their profile. Whats the point in writing some long introductory message to someone who is going to take one look at you and delete your message. |

I will admit, I never look at who has winked, I don't even bother to delete, sometimes I get a pleasant surprise a few months down the line when I come across someone's profile and see the 'they winked at you.....'
I've too many messages at times, so sit and wonder what the wink meant! So it is a feature I don't use on here |

I'm not being big headed, but single bi fems get lots of messages a day - and maybe I am odd, but I do reply to everyone (unless they have been rude or disrespectful), even if its a no thanks, but I don't see the point for winks as well.
But I guess if some people are using them that way, then I need to edit my profile AGAIN lol |

I really don't mind winks, like someone said if i get a wink, i'll have a look at their profile and if i like i wink back. Sometimes wink guys too when i'm browsing. I don't consider it lazy, just have an appreciation for how hard guys work on here sending messages and how many times they actually get a reply back. |

Same here...no issue with them. Have met a few guys where initial contact was a wink either sent or received. It's an easy way of showing an interest and if the interest is returned then it breaks the ice a bit to me in a message |

I ( Pip ) think it means " Here I am. What do you think? If you ignore me then your not impressed. If you contact me maybe Im in with a small chance....Which s generally the way. We reply to winks with a thank you message if think the sender is what we're looking for, or ignore if theyre not. No harm in a wink lol. |

We don't mind winks, and if they take our fancy we will wink back and then hope they send a mail.
If we wink them and they return we will send a lovely introductory email.
We also wink people further a field as us, as we love nothing more than meeting new people and trying new clubs so we do travel some distances, on many a occasion |

Ok, now the majority of my messages are of the 'Hi' variety, if you can give me a decent reply to them, then I'll consider it!
Until then, I wont, harsh it may seem, but I already have a job thanks, but I will always read the profile and again, if it's a one liner, then I will continue to ignore! |

Lets face it.
Initial contact is all about aesthetics. So a wink is simply a 'hi, hope I pass"
People on this site complain about guys sending out pasted messages.....
Accept the wink, be flattered, check the persons profile out...... And reply with a wink. It's like eye contact in a bar and a smile.
Keep on winking winkers!!!!! |

"is it really so hard just to reply and ask what they have in mind??who knows what a bit of courtesy could lead to??"
To be honest it is! As most haven't even bothered to read my profile, otherwise they wouldn't have messaged me in the first place, now, I'm sure you will at least agree with me there! |

I think it's a good way of showing initial interest, if its Someone i think may make a good meet i return the wink or send a thanks for the wink message. I've had a few meets that began as a wink. |

Rock on winking! If you're stood at a bar and were to wink at a group of ladies more often than not you spend most of the evening chatting or flirting. If it's good enough for Ronaldo, who one stylish fella then it's good enough for me on fabs. |

I use em a bit as I'm not supposed to use my phone at work but I generally mail people I've sent em to when I have more time, as adding people to got list tends to clog your updates with stuff you really don't need to know. Also yep they are a good way of showing appreciation. I quite like receiving em but its not for everyone I guess |
