Obviously it's not just single men that cancel meets last moment but they have to be more inventive as they can't use the period excuse, what's the best you've ever heard for last minute cold feet? Or just as amusing those that change the meet so drastically you have to cancel. One couple asked if they could bring a dog, so I had to cancel that, I have been cancelled on because a man lost his car keys. |

Ha ha you're lucky! When we've been let down they have never even bothered making an excuse.
We're Sure they get their thrills by just being accepted for a meet then they start again. |

Oh believe me I've had that one occurs very often, in fact three of the separate occasions I've been sat here all ready and heard nothing until the following week. I then get a message saying "Hi sexy, fancy a meet?Nice pics btw!" The nerve of it! One couple that stood us up was verified by someone else for the same night obviously chose them and forgot to mention it to us lol. |

I was messaging a lass, we were mailing back and forward for a day or two so arranged a meet for that night at her place! An hour later, i got a message saying, 'sorry, but my wife isn't going out as planned so can i come to yours instead'? . When i pointed out that i thought 'he' was a 'she' as stated in 'her' profile, and there would be NO meet, he called ME the timewaster! Lol. |

"We've never been let down so we have no idea, but some of the excuses we've heard about are just terrible. And shocking ... who'd turn down a good night of sex with someone they've arranged with?!" Absolutely! It's not like it's a contract either, I always think is a person is too nervous then there is nothing wrong with changing it to a social. At least the ones that cancel have that decency though.

How about this one? I arranged to meet a guy who said he was a local fireman. Booked a room and everything, sat there like a lemon, waiting. Called to say he would be late...called to say he would be later...called to say there was a big fire and he was on call! Must have had cold feet and gone to warm them by the fire LOL |

I think what happens, particularly on the casenof guys is that they get really excited.
"Finally I've got a meet! I wonder what we'll do? I wonder what she's wearing" etc...and have a short wank to calm themselves down. At which point the urge goes and they can't be bothered anymore in the post cum haze. |

Turned out I was in the right hotel but the wrong junction on the M1 with piss-poor reception. I really should read messages properly. |

Yup - even had someone posting for a meet and moaning about not getting one after actually arranging one with me, phone numbers exchanged, texts exchanged, address sent, time agreed - and, nothing.
As it turned out I ended up setting up a last minute meet with someone I had met before and it was bloody fantastic!
Had one on Saturday just gone - did the usual going silent a day before so I knew it would be off. And he was still online after 10pm looking for a meet! Now, I doubt he was genuinely looking for a meet - probably looking for the next sucker to reel in. It's those kind of people which make things difficult.
Fortunately, in my opinion, there are plenty of good guys around to make up for them. |

And that is why I have put a short comment on the end of my profile - NO second chances. Not any more. You can't meet, ok, no problem. But I will not arrange a new one. This boat has sailed and you are blocked - no offence intended. |

Not an excuse as such because I suspect it was true, but I was sat waiting for a meet at 2pm. When he hadn't turned up at 2.30pm I texted him and the reply was that he was still in bed with the woman he'd met the night before. Charming! |

No offence taken, by second chance, I meant I had been speaking to him before, and with nothing arranged he disappeared for over 6 months, then decided to contact me again when he came back on site.
So he was forewarned! |

Yes - that is what I thought. I've done the same and had the same result as you - hence the message at the end of the profile. A guy arranges something I make a note and if he's a no-show or cancels, even it it is a prefectly reasonable excuse - then that's it. He has had his ONE chance. Otherwise you could just end up getting messed about all the time. I only meet Saturdays so if I get this a lot then it really does affect my meeting time. Plenty of decent guys out there so I won't give the chancers a second chance. Problem is, I have vetted carefully and still been caught out. It happens and we cannot always plan for it. So - no second chances. |

I think it's most annoying when they ask you to rearrange it for another time after bottling it the first time. There are so many people that will go the extra mile especially when you're making a first impression, no sleep lost over the ones who don't make it. |

Arranged to meet a guy who at the last minute sent a message to say his daughter was ill and had been taken to hospital,no problem with that as these things sometimes happen, looked on fab a few minutes later to see if we could find a replacement and he had just put up another meet me tonight add.
It looked like he didnt want to travel to see us so made up a lie.
As it turned out we did find a replacement and it turned out to be one of our best meets |

So many sick children; it would eclipse a third world country - and 'unlucky' ones who get themselves all sorts of injuries. And do babysitters really cancel at the last minute THAT often? But what can one say...as a get out clause it is bullet proof. |

as someone who has 3 kids...it does happen and have had to cancel daytime meets in the past because of one or the other being sick so home from school on a day I was due to have a meet...of late it has been because the twat of an ex has just not shown up to pick up the kids on his weekends so countless times I have had to cancel meets...and yes sitters do cancel at the last minute with interesting excuses of their own...

A single friend of ours had to cancel a meet with a lady because he'd managed to slice a hole in his scrotum while trimming his pubes with a pair of kitchen scissors. You could actually see inside it!
He asked us to assure her that he wasn't a time waster because we knew her personally.
When we stopped laughing long enough we rang her and explained and as she was free that night she came round to see us.
So he didn't feel left out we text him loads of pictures of what he was missing.
What are friends for eh?
PS We did all offer to go to casualty with him to get it sewn up but he declined our kind offer as we were all a bit pissed at the time. |

"Oh and you're definitely right about the thrill of the chase, I'm sure some are happy just knowing the could have the date "
I think you are spot on. The thrill of the chase, for some, is the end. I do believe many people , when faced with the decision to meet or not just can't. Sometimes the fantasy of a liaison can't become reality |

How about being cancelled on DURING a meet?
Some time ago, arranged a MMF with a bi fb I've known a long time, and a guy who was 'straight but he can suck my cock'
He arrived at my fb's house, we started playing, double BJ me and the fb both sucking him off, he came...and then his phone rang. Cue loud discussion in the kitchen suggesting a lad he'd sent to work on a timber yard for the day (worked for an agency) had had his foot run over by a forklift truck.
I don't know if it was genuine or not but if it was made up, 10 out of 10 for creativity! |

I headed off home, logged on to FAB and they were both in chat on can saying I'd let them down and didn't turn up!! |

Was supposed to meet for a social coupla weeks ago...guy was messaging me every morning for 3 or 4 days before...came to the morning of the meet and his message implied he thought we'd be shagging - I messaged back that it was a social and he apologised for getting over-excited. Sent him a text as I was coming home from work asking if we were still on for the evening n got the reply that he couldn't as he had a solicitors letter to respond to before next morning - never heard off him again |

I had to cancel a meet as I had to attend an evening meeting with work. I gave a day and a half notice and said how sorry I was obviously, and asked to to arrange. Had a message back few hours later asking if I could meet that evening but as I only got home at 6pm and he was an hour away I declined. Realised a day or so later that Id been blocked! It was a genuine reason and not a made up excuse but sometimes you just can't win! |

Had similar situation a few weeks ago with a couple as turned up at their address after spoken on the phone an hour before and texted on way etc.
To no answer at the door and then a text a couple minutes later to say sorry family emergency, went online and they were still online themselves!! if such a family emergency get off fab, so challenged them on this and they blocked me a few minutes later whilst at the family emergency lol.
They are still on the site after i reported them to admin (who never responded) I suppose their £5 a month is more important than wasting peoples time to the owners of the site |

Ha d 1 person cancel last minute and she did actually confess to it being nerves as it was her first meet.
Also have had to cancel myself due to work, the joys of being self employed.
Nothing worse than looking forward to a horny encounter and work spoiling it for both parties. |

"So many sick children; it would eclipse a third world country - and 'unlucky' ones who get themselves all sorts of injuries. And do babysitters really cancel at the last minute THAT often? But what can one say...as a get out clause it is bullet proof."
My son came down with an ear infection which made me cancel aday meet. I text him the night before saying I was dosing up calpol and would see how son was in the morning.
But in answer unless your the primary carer of young kids you have no idea how often they can get ill and bugger up plans lol.
Havent been let down by childcare as yet. But have been the childcare privider having to let someone down due to me being ill. So yes it does happen all the time x |
