Whilst I have only been on here two weeks and therefore had to ride out the 336 hour block before posting, it's allowed me to at least browse the forums.
I notice a lot of chaps posting rants and moans about how they don't get messages, don't get meets, everyone must be a fake profile, attention seeking etc.
Can't just be me who reads these rants and thinks "and this is really helping your cause, buddy?" |

There's a cycle of the same or similar threads. Some a nice and fun, or good talking points. Some are this. Or rate my profile. Tell me what's wrong, what I can fix. Instead of using the search function and looking at the 1m other posts asking the exact same thing.

I think, due to the ratio of single guys to girls/couples, for most guys, the site is ultimately disappointing.
If you write a few, well crafted, opening messages, presumably due to the sheer number of incoming mails, these will often not even be read, or even if they are looked at, will, more often than not, simply get no acknowledgement at all.
If you've a thick skin or you don't care who you actually meet (you just want to fuck), I presume you soon resort to one liners or copy/paste, often without reading the profile, simply hoping a scattergun approach, may result in something.
That then pulls the site quality down and those on the recieving end, of the virtual SPAM deluge, moan about that too. 
It can be frustrating and people vent about it, hoping that'll attract kindred spirits more than not (or simply because it IS far from expectations and ultimately pretty frustrating).
People do look at your profile more, if you post in these forums (as opposed to sitting on the virtual fence) and what you say here (good/bad/realistic or not) is indicative of the person you are of course.

I’m always surprised when people, totally seriously, speak about how good their messages are. If they aren’t getting responses then they aren’t good.
And most importantly, attraction is the main thing that gets responses on here.
None of us are entitled to a reply. No one is perfect.

I'm certainly not claiming my messages are perfect (far from it!), but time and time again I see threads here, where people bemoan that those writing send one liner "wanna fuck" and don't pay any attention to the profile, yada yada.
Personally I read what people say and if I think we might get on, then I'll try and write something appropriate (and honest).
I've zero expectations because if you have those here, you'll, often as not, be disappointed and it also seems the deluge of "you are hot, let's meet now" will often drown out any serious reply.

For me initial attraction is purely physical. If I don’t find someone physically attractive I wouldn’t want to have sex with them. That might make me shallow but for what I use fab for I’m ok with that  |
