Hey, just wanted to gauge what fellow sex enthusiasts do to prepare when playing bare, was having a deep and controversial conversation with a couple at a club (couple were amazing but had different views on playing bare) but wanted to see what others think.
Myself it’s the usual testing monthly (at a cost of £179, which is painful). But I also take doxy and prep using the event based method, I believe this is what has stopped me from catching anything in the last few years.
The couple in question seemed to have a very strange view of it all, they never fuck bare, but will suck a dick dry and swallow without a condom (which she duly did, with experience), they also never test. my rebuttal was you have just as much chance at catching something with oral and you do with penetration.
Just wanted to see what others think and if anyone preps before a bare meet. |

We can get free kits where we live, but they are very basic - syphilis, hiv, chlamydia and gonorrhea.
They don’t test for things like trichomonasis which is quite common, HPV etc. I think if I’m choosing to play bare then unfortunately it’s something I just have to pay for to keep that peace of mind. Definitely an expensive hobby lol |

When I'm active we used to get tested regularly based on discussion with sti clinic.
Free tests are available in many areas |

You can’t prepare for a bare meet so I wouldn’t delude yourself. Everyone should be testing regularly - however they decide to have sex.
I use SH.uk who are very quick around here and don’t do bare. |

You can't really prepare for unprotected sex.
Yes, you can do all you can, I test regularly and have done a lot of certed testing due to content making, free online test kits should be the minimum. Would I trust it with someone else, probably not, unless I know the person already and they had done more in-depth testing too.
There are free clinics that do testing too, much more reliable and it provides an ID based proven test, online and at home can lead to errors in testing and ID fraud (it happens).
Of course all the testing in the world only means you are safe at the time of testing.
Your question of oral bare is quite a common one on the scene as yes you are just as likely to come unstuck orally but a lot of people see this as a lower risk and more treatable if that happens (not my personal view I add).
All of which are personal choices, I don't lecture or judge, you can't change people. You can only look after yourself. |
