Ok here is an interesting question!!! How often do people get checked at a sexual health clinic???? Every couple of months? Or when they suspect they need too??? And are you brave enough to tell the results????
my last visit was Wednesday as part of my 3 month checks for my piece of mind,, plus I needed some more latex free condoms lol

Do you pay privately for the results lol?? Only mine always take about 2 weeks to get!
On a serious note, i get checked every 3 months and funnily enough the nurse always tells me to refrain from having sex for 3 months! Is it just me or does everyone get told this? And do you ignore or adhere to their advice?  |

Two and a half weeks later and the results are in. All clear! I wasn't worried, honest.
Need to keep on top of it now, every three months I think. |

I go every three months as standard. Obviously if there are any accidents, fortunately there has only been one, I wouldn't wait and would get there as soon as possible. I go for the full MOT every visit.
The way I see it is the only person I can trust with my sexual health is myself. I enjoy my lifestyle and wouldn't like to have to give it up because I've not looked out for myself. |

Three months. The nurse who asked me questions about my recent sexual history asked me if I was part of the swingers scene........when I said yes she said that she had been swinging for years.
I forgot to ask for her number!!!!  |

have a full check up every 3 months if I'm regularly playing. I've not had penetrative sex though since January and no oral since begining of March, but will still have the full tests incas anything has been lurking! |

I go about every 3/4 months depending on how active I've been. Had one bad result when I first started playing but not sure if that was from swinging or a previous partner. Told everyone I had played with and have had all clean results since. |

I go every 3 months but was really miffed last time I went because they wouldn't test me. Said I had to wait at least a week after sex to be tested for clymidia, 2 weeks for something else, a month for HIV and 3 months for syphillis
I've since been back twice and the first time after a 3 hour wait I had to leave and the second time I was stupid enough to go in the school Holidays. That resulted in a walk out too  |

I always have at least a week without play before I get tested, just to give anything a chance to show up.

I went two weeks ago, all clear 
I have been advised to be checked every three months so got a while to wait for the next one. Our GU clinic offer hepatitis b vaccinations for all swingers. I had the first jab but it hurt so much I haven't had the other two. They don't offer free condoms |

Every three months for me. More often if I've had more than 5 partners. I have a full check including throat swabs. Ive also had my hepatitis jabs (required for my job).
So far all my results have come back clear. |

Every 3 months for me and one closer in gap due to a condom splitting. Get tested for everything and all ok each time. When I first began going I went with a partner and naturally showed each other the results.
I feel more at ease going now and bring back condoms and lube x |

I often use to amuse myself by describing the Gum clinic where it was situated decades ago or some of the old booking methods and the old booth they used.... just to see if people agreed (because they didn't know any different)....... it's amazing just how many people say they go regularly and don't. |

Every 2 to 3 months for me depending how active I have been.
You need to wait several days after exposure for some infections to show up so charging in the next day will not do it.  |

I asked the clinic nurse how often they find std's in swingers? She said that (in the area of the country we live in) in swinging couples hiv is really unheard of. Chlamydia and gonorrhoea only tend to appear in younger couples BUT hep b is seen from time to time. She gave us both hep b booster jabs.
She said instances of std in swingers is higher if the men are bisexual or gay.
Ask the same question when you get tested....its worth knowing what you are facing in your area.

Only thing with that is a lot don't admit to being swingers...must admit I didn't in my first couple of visits but now I'm completely open about it and usually have a bit of a chat with the nurses who know me about what I've been up to! |

We get tested every 3 months. We try to stagger our checkups, so I'll get tested, then my girlfriend six weeks later, then me another six weeks later etc. Obviously any positives either ourselves and amongst our wider swingers group results in us going to be tested and throws the cycle a little bit. |

surely if you've got something you've got something, regardless to saying yes or no to being a swinger.

when i go they ask me if i want a blood test for HIV and i always say yes. |

I don't think they test for different things as such but they may wonder why you're going so often if you're not honest? Although I could be wrong and they may test the swabs and bloods more thoroughly. |

My last checkup was about a month ago. I had primarily gone for contraception and thought I would have to go another time for tests as I was on my period, but she said it didn't matter and I could do the swab myself (in her words, 'Push it in up to there, swirl it about and count to ten' lol). She asked for details of my last 4 encounters, one of those was an mmf threesome, we were both in stitches by the time we'd finished. She did a throat swab too as I told her I do oral unprotected, we talked about the risks, she offered me flavoured condoms. I didn't get a blood test that time but had one in January, I will request one next time. All clear |

I was honest with the doctor - all it did was make him blush!
He agreed that every 3 months is a good idea and also told me that swingers tend to be less likely to have any std's because of regular checks.
