Over the rainbow, under the bridge

After a highly respected doctor created a scare about the MMR vaccine causing autism many parents did not get their children vaccinated. If I recall correctly his research was discredited and it turned out that it was funded by a pharmaceutical firm, I think. Parents demanded single vaccines not the triple as this false research said it was safer. This was more expensive but would have made a lot of money for companies selling them. Now we have a measles epidemic. This is a deadly disease. My cousin, who is in his 60s now, ended up profoundly deaf after contracting it as a child.

Its a essential vaccine. When my daughter had hers done, her brother was about 3 and I asked if he could be vaccinated too. Docs said yes. I feel for anyone who didnt get vaccinated

I was actually not advised by my GP to have my son vaccinated when tiny as its a live vaccine grown on egg and he had food allergies, milk, egg etc (yes the hospital actually discovered the allergies not me)

When he grew out of the food reactions he had it done at aged 14.

Just read the the doctor was struck off and is now in the US. He was a gastroenterologist so quite how he was an expert in autism escapes me.

People die from measles and just recently a 25 yo lad in Wales died from the disease.
