I don't mind admitting that I find writing the first approach message difficult.
First messages on here are obviously like CV covering letters ...the content is very important to the reader and helps them make a decision as to whether you're a decent possible applicant or not lol
So come on girls provide us with some exapmples of these 'chatty, witty, funny' first 'covering letter' messages that you like to receive ...and of course that you send out yourselves.
I'd just be interested really as I'm sure other men on here would be too.

I usually say something like: you look interesting. ..
I tend to prefer short witty first messages, well written in correct english. There is another thread on here at the moment of the do's and don'ts, the don'ts are easy, the do's are much harder and I am sure both can sometimes not apply. Everyone is different. Put out the right energy and I am sure you will get back what you need. |

Like has been said, read the profile, tells you what you need to know. I dont like text talk, its alright once you get to know someone but initial message should be properly written. I request a photo but very rarely do guys do that, so its obvious they havent read it so I delete the message. Bit of info about you is all thats needed, for me anyway. Good luck |

An example I always give, someone once asked me what I thought about stew. Made me laugh, we had a meet based on that one message. It won't work if anyone else sends me that message, and I doubt if he sent it to another female it would get the same success. Everyone is different. |

Don't think there is any secret, just a few correctly spelled lines that says who you are and what you want. If you include a facepic, people will either like the look of you or not.
To be honest, if people like your facepic they will probably overlook a badly written message, as long as it's not at the level of 'u free 2 fuck 2nite lol?!?' |

Read their profile, mention something you liked about their profile, don't be pushy, make sure you have nice photos for them to peruse and ask a leading question so your message doesn't read as just a statement, it requires a response.
For an example if I was messaging you I would say:
"Did you know you can fly from Bristol direct to Inverness for less than the cost of a night out? Check it out, I'm sure there's a seat just waiting for that cute bum of yours!" |

Very good advice. You need to give the recipient a reason to reply. Utterly unimaginative messages like "how are you?" won't do that, but the sort of message above potentially will.
And don't forget the importance of a good profile, many people read the profile before the message.
And make sure your message and profile are consistant with each other. |

"I don't mind admitting that I find writing the first approach message difficult.
First messages on here are obviously like CV covering letters ...the content is very important to the reader and helps them make a decision as to whether you're a decent possible applicant or not lol
So come on girls provide us with some exapmples of these 'chatty, witty, funny' first 'covering letter' messages that you like to receive ...and of course that you send out yourselves.
I'd just be interested really as I'm sure other men on here would be too.

Personally, it's not about the first message at all, it's about how the chat flows. I like to exchange a whole train of messages or chat. It's the only way to tell if there can be a meeting of minds, then to the bodies.  |
