"I've often wondered this but why is it always "wife swapping" or "hot wife"?
Is there a "husband swapping" or "hot husband"?
Only curious because we don't seem to see it as often. "
The wife swapping term goes back many years but if you think about it, if couples are swapping wives they are also swapping husbands....guess that's why it's now called swinging. |

I saw a post the other day asking something along the lines of "what's the biggest your wife has taken?".
To me it implied the same "possession" view of women. Why are some people still like this?   |

I'm a "hot husband" if i have to label it. Wifes a cuckqean who gets off on me with other women (and yes we have a couples account on here).
Its not that common. We are, as far as we know, the only couple who really fills that niche at our club.
There are some husbands who play solo but so do their wives. We seem to be the only couple where more often than not my wife wants to watch or not join in and reclaim me afterwards.
And yes I do love every second of it. |

Maybe it's because some are trying to give them away and get a better one?  
As for the husband bit, probably cos half of us aren't something the women would wish on others and the other half they don't want to give away and so don't advertise it.

I think this whole thread is reading to much into it, which seems to be the common trend these days. As for the quote above, how else are you supposed to identify your spouse if you don't call them your wife/husband? If you ask the question "what's the biggest you've seen a wife or a woman or even a man or a husband take?" It's a completely different question.
As for the original question, why is it called wife swapping I suppose it's historical from the days when men were seen as the head of the family, (Please don't try and judge historical norms by present day standards, you'll just go mad). I presume partner swapping or spouse swapping would be far more appropriate in this day and age.
As for hot wife you do also get hot husbands, but due to the demographic of Fab members I presume it's a lot easier to find a partner for your hot wife than it is for your hot husband, which will be one of the reasons why you see the term hot wife far more than hot husband. |

Wife swapping is just a term from the 1960s when it was considered acceptable that the man was totally in charge. A term not really used these days as we have moved on. Even the term swinging has changed its meaning as it now appears to include singles! Language and the meaning of words changes constantly! |
