The starting rate of £1 million sounds an awful lot but even a small Farm of a hundred acres plus farmhouse is worth more than 1 million, Clarkson's farm is probably worth Three or 4 million |

As a former farm worker and have friends in farming still I'm so happy to hear that this debacle is understood and heard alot by the public, they basically want the end of family farms, there bigger factory farms eventually too. It needs to end!! |

Feel like they need to exempt passing on to family members who operate as a farm, but if family member sells farm within short space of time let’s say 10 years, it becomes taxable.
Too many contract farming operations. Quite a few “farmers” who bought land for building development in future with no real passion for farmers.
Then again the real benefit to farmers would be to somehow re enter customs union as allowing cheap meat from Australia and NZ was a terrible move from last government but the loss of farm subsidies from EU meant they had to do something to keep food costs down. |
