Wolves and Northants

Is there one?

Just had a message from a couple and they asked for face pics of us. Sent one over and within ten seconds of them opening it they blocked us!

I mean that’s their perogagive and all that but wow.

We wouldn’t have been offended by a reply saying “thanks but you’re not our type” lol

So got us thinking…. Do you have a certain kind of messaging etiquette that you abide by to move on gracefully or are you ruthless and cutthroat and toss straight to the wolves??

It’s all about being polite

Establish if there is any connection and if not say so.

I suppose blocking is saying 'not for us'.

There isn't a formal etiquette for messaging on fab but the FAQs do say no reply is acceptable

In future tell them to lead by example and send a photo first. If they refuse, interpret that as a red flag. 🚩

We get alot of people bluntly request our face pics from the very first message.... we don't mind sending ours but it would work so much better if they had the courtesy to attach theirs to their request

It’s nice to be nice, and manners maketh the man etc etc.

Seriously though, it doesn’t take much just to say sorry but no thanks. Rudeness is so unsexy.

I used to reply to everyone including the thanks but not for me, I've learnt after many follow up questions or abuse not to bother trying to be polite.

On the odd occasion when we do reply with not for us thanks it's surprising how many people just appreciate the reply and take it well. We should really do it more often.

I always say "thanks, but no thanks" or similar. It costs nothing to be civil......

It always depends in all honesty on the profile messaging and the message itself. Sometimes they leave themselves open to the cut throat, delete and block method if they've sent a stupid message or clearly haven't read our profile/offering things that we aren't after. Some it's the gentle thanks but no thanks.
