....but at the same time it can be self-perception. I'd be proud to walk down the street with you, or someone like you. As long as someone has some personal pride in looking and dressing well for their shape and size it's a no-brainer. As someone who's preference is larger/curvy women, I find that often any such approach is bars etc is often regarded with a degree of suspicion, possibly for the very reasons alluded to above, this can in turn be viewed as rejection by the male, It's a sad state of affairs. |

It never bothered her at 5'11" without heels, while I'm 5'6" (definitely small for a guy). No small man syndrome here, which she found attractive. Each to their own? To be fair I've been fat, curvy, athletic, skinny, across many years. Rarely got approached in public at any size (well unless you count pissed in a bar  ).

Most definitely. The worst for me are the guys who pile in on another guy every time a man asks a question in the forums. True colours in a heartbeat. Often gets nasty and personal very unnecessarily. Always appears to be an opportunistic attempt to look better than they are in front of a woman. I mean, yes, but also no. This isn't a black and white issue, for me. While so called "white knighting" and performative peacocking is certainly a thing, I think there's a risk of that being used to dismiss or villify everyday common decency, too.
I've seen some absolutely shocking stuff on these forums; barely concealed racism, aggressive homophobia, and some really unpleasant misogyny. As a "tofu-eating guardian-reading woke liberati" type I think it's important to push back against hatred, to challenge those spouting that sort of vile rhetoric. "I'm only saying what everyone else thinks but are too scared to say" is a sentiment trotted out regularly by these types, I feel it's incumbent on reasonable people to make it clear WE DO NOT FUCKING THINK THAT.
As such, I've ended up on the forum naughty step on more than one occasion because I haven't been able to bite my tongue and let it wash over me.

I think what it is is guys who meet in a regular setting are also looking for a relationship of some kind and don't really want to be with a larger lady as they care what others think, they all want that trophy GF whatever they say.

This was a good thread in my view OP, good in that it's a wholehearted attempt to highlight one of many blatant issues with not just fab or being a "BBW", but in general, of what is a true disrespect shown to other human beings. Usually just because it's not the fashionable thing to think or act in a certain way, so it's better to bash someone publicly than tell everyone you're 'bashing into them' behind closed doors...
What it all boils down to is that everyone is racing and comparing themselves to each other for a popularity contest, it taints their view and/or how they behave. That influences is no different on fab. |
