A.I. Profile Pics - acceptable?

Hi all, including admin, what are you thoughts on AI photos on profiles?
I’ve noticed a few profiles where their images are AI generated. In fact I just fab’d a photo before I realised it was AI. There’s even one profile that has dozens of photos where their face is AI.
As far as I’m aware profile pictures have to be approved. Should there be an updated policy to deny AI generated profile photos? Or should we ignore it and allow people to display themselves however they want? |

It's actually quite simple. The AI can take everything about your Pic and just augment it to make you perfect. Trim, tuck, size (boobs and dicks) remove wrinkles, etc. Takes about 10 minutes. |

Haha. I know you’re just asking hypothetically but - there’s a lot of websites and apps where you upload a few photos of yourself. The AI then generates thousands of new photos of you.
They then enhance your attractiveness and put you into all kinds of different scenarios and make photo realistic images that portray you as a smart suited business man, an ancient Egyptian, Olympic bodybuilder, deep thinker, seasoned traveller, and so on.
I get the fun side of creating them. But to portray that as the real you is very creepy. I’ve seen it a few times, and the give away is that their older “real” photos look nothing like the AI ones. Both in looks and lifestyle.

AI pics are no more acceptable than those ‘borrowed’ from other porn sites. In some ways they are worse as they wouldn’t show up in any reverse image search. You would have to assume that anyone using either have no intention of meeting given that you would then be found out. |

AI pics shouldn't be allowed on here, it leaves things open to abuse, misleading and will eventually bring this site into question. Why pay for a subscription if you aren't getting what you pay for |

Although a relatively new concept for now, AI images will rapidly become more mainstream. Agree that we need a site-wide way to manage these. Photo editing (changing photos of you) is one thing (a bit like putting on make up, it generally enhances the real you). AI images are, in my opinion, similar to catfishing and have no place here among honest folks. Mrs SW |
