I'm looking to find a club that's spent a few quid on decor and maybe strict on entrance limited to certain ages and appearance. Somewhere thats not dark and dingey on an industrial estate or similar. So many reviews I've seen and pics just feel unclean. No need for black and dark red walls. Keen to find a nice swanky place to meet sexy people. |

"Good luck to you, but you'll meet people just as nice and decent in any other club "
You'd like to think so. But a club we won't name we couldn't be paid enough to go back to. Think a darker version of the bar scene in the original Star wars. Capped off by a fella in dirty work jeans, covered in oil, shirtless and in miss matched flip flops |

Perhaps it was fancy dress and he’d gone as one of the cast of Lost |

Would love to know this as well. Often when I have been to clubs previously, it has been the sort of place you would walk out of in embarressment on a normal night out, an older crowd or just not what I would consider an attractive clientele. Some of these places just have a very clicky regular group and you stick out like a sore thumb. I have heard Le Boudoir is good but haven't been there yet. |

But it’s not a normal night out, that’s the whole point. There’s only so much you can expect from a swingers club. |

From those that we have been to I would suggest Purple Mamba or Liberty Elite. Check the website of both as often events are not open to all groups of people. Single guys wishing to attend Purple Mamba will need to have an online interview prior to membership being granted. Both selective but not snooty. Mrs SW |

I’m no expert.
Le Boudoir is good from people’s comments on forums.
AbFabs at Heathrow is good.
Decor and people’s behaviour are two separate issues.
I agree with preferring a non-industrial location.
Costly tickets is not a guarantee for good manners/people.
Strict Management attitude has an impact on people’s behaviour too.
I’m a single straight gent, so I used to think couples did not like us singles. But many couples prefer single gents as they find couple’s very cliquey.
Whichever club I have been to, most people are sociable and a few unfriendly ones.
Chamaleon, Xtasia, Liberty are popular ones on forums. I haven’t been to them.

Chams is a great club, and males require membership unless it’s an event you can have your name on the guestlist. It’s basic in its decor but probs one of the most popular and liked clubs with a good crowd. |

Thank you everybody for your reaponses. Most appreciated. Im a little new to the game but can't understand why so many clubs I've seen pics of look like dark dirty dungeons. Was considering opening a new one myself which looked modern and fresh. Appreciate your help. |

I'm happy for descreet but minging decor, sticky carpets, darkness and uncleanliness does not attract me. I don't see why they can't splash a bit of paint etc. I'd pay more to visit a nice place. No diff to a restaurant really. |

My wife and I prefer private meets, drinks at a neutral bar/pub then back to our luxury home x

"They're swinging clubs, they're not meant to be all out there and full of razmatazz. Most are in buildings you wouldn't even know are there for a reason, to keep them descreet."
Actually I’ve been to “private clubs” in LA, London and Tokyo and they’re full on luxurious. Imagine the most plush bar you’ve ever seen, with additional dark rooms or hotel rooms attached.
It’s a much more comfortable and enjoyable experience. It businesses here made the effort in certain they would see an increase in the number of clientele and a totally different crowd starting to take interest. |

Another vote for Penthouse Playeooms, certainly spent some time making it more bar/club feel.
Xtasia also has a more club/bar feel round the dancefloor/bar area.
In the view of the club owners I would say though that if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Make it too much like a posh bar/club then some customers would start to feel uncomfortable and the vibe would change.
The clubs we have visited are more about creating an atmosphere of fun and freedom than trying to be something they are not. |

Vanilla Alternative is proberbly at the top end.
Very nice , pay bar and some great events.
We can only suggest you try it.
For comparison we have been to hellfire, Libs and Chams as a comparison .
All great clubs in their own right by the way. |

The attendance numbers will tell them.
Problem with the clubs at the more “chic” end is they also charge “chic” prices. The clubs we have been to like that are always less busy, again that may be what it’s clientele are looking for but we prefer a full club with lots of people. |

I own several bars a cross the UK. I'd be happy to open and create something which is done sophisticated and upmarket. Im new to this scene. Do people spend on drinks etc when there. If anybody wants to be an advisor that's interested. I'd ideally look to open in south Warwickshire countryside are as I've a place there I can redevelop. |

In my opinion you don’t really want people drinking too much in a club like this - consent becomes an issue if people have too much. I think you will actually struggle to make much money from the drink/food side. |

Not so much drinking alcohol, but definitely an area for socialising before play.
The south hasn't got many clubs ( Oxfordshire/berks ares) and needs to be near hotels. |

People probably would have some drinks but you would probably make more on s9ft drinks as alcohol and sex usually dont mix too well for several reasons |

the sad thing is the clubs that exist dont get used enough they at best and if lucky are half full or alot lot less unless its xmas /new year ..
see a very small amount of people use clubs as is and since covid / cost of living thats dropped even more alot of swingers dont use clubs so not sure there would be enough to sustain a few up market ones too |

You won't get a licence anymore.
I've run events for years (rave/ club events mainly) and the law basically stops any new clubs from opening (even if it doesnt necessarily say out right). Even cubs that are currently operating would be closed if they didnt renew their licence. The council's hate us that much.
I consulted on a new club a few years ago. They literally did everything they could. Got all the contracts, location (strict location rules apply to sex clubs) and he still got turned down last min. This guy had MONEY to throw at it. It was basically up and ready to go and he had to close it. |

With regards to high end clubs. Only Amsterdam and Berlin have those.
There are none in the UK. Some are ok but far from posh and way behind the places listed. |

There is a new club opening in Sheffield later this month. GGs Lounge in Runcorn opened at the start of this year. |

It's worth bearing in mind that the pandemic was a catastrophic time for clubs. They aren't awash with tons of money, after that, to invest, as it cost the scene so dearly and clubs aren't gold mines, anyway. That said, many used the months of closure to revamp things. The Attic in Derby is probably the most recently reopened club, having moved to a new venue.
Your description OP almost sounds like an exclusive Mayfair, upmarket venue for socialites, with decor close to the expense that Boris Johnson lavished in 10 Downing Street. That image doesn't really reflect the majority of the swinging scene. You may find private parties held in some more exclusive venues but their clientele may be similarly exclusive of you..it would be interesting to hear what you'd expect to spend, for such a club's access? |

That's interesting because there's been a few new clubs open since the pandemic and a fair few existing ones have changed owners - I'm guessing the new operators would have needed to renew the lease/licence with the relevant authorities? |

Manchester, Liverpool and Central London don't. And I'm on a group with lots of owners where this is a regular concern.
There are alot that operate without a licence under the one per month guise (Basically some establishments can host one sex party per month even if not a sex club) yet obviously operate way more. |

By Central London, any councils in particular? It's not a centrally governed or defined region, rather licensing is regulated by the borough the establishment happens to be in.
As for operating unlicensed, I'm sure this would be easy to catch out given social media postings and neighbour complaints etc??

It's not that easy actually. There is a well known venue for swinging, kink and paid for sex parties in S Ldn that operates without all licenses the locals believe they should have. Ditto, for many years, a highly publicised party venue N of London... Grey areas. Very grey areas... |

To add: the one local to me is well run and supported by the local community. Lots of neighbours went to non-sex events there during C19 related down times in order to support them diversifying and preserve the minority community resource. I don't know any details of the rights/wrongs of the other cases. |

You'd think so but they get away with it.
Just like the clubs that stayed open during covid as they were there to support 'vulnerable people' yet had full on sex parties every week. |

I've been to lots of clubs and none have been "posh" though most have been nice, friendly and fun.
All clubs I have attended had a variety of people of all shapes and sizes.
VA is quite nicely done out, but the large room with double mattresses spoils the effect of their attempt at being upmarket, in my opinion.
Purple Mamba is also nicely designed but they don't enforce the dress code. If you're a non smoker it may also not suit, as on my visit I would say 90% smoked, or smelled as though they did.
Le Boudoir in London is supposed to be quite exclusive and vets all potential attendees.
Your other option is smart invite only private meets.
I hope you find the club for yoy OP |

Le Boudoir.
The most sophisticated club in the U.K that we’ve found and we’ve done a few over the years.
Selective, cosmopolitan entry. Extensive bar, attentive hosts, guests dress to impress.
It works for us. |

if you own bars you will have heard of the offence of keeping a disorderly house licensing magistrate would probably see providing play rooms as falling in to that category Hence so many clubs are unlicensed and tucked away |

Wish I could help you in your endeavour.
Catchment area is important. Le Boudoir benefits from being in London’s financial area.
AbFabs from being next to Heathrow Airport.
Check out Eureka in Kent as a countryside theme and then make it posh.
Also add Service with a Smile.
A few places I have been, some staff see clients as a disturbance to their staff chat, rather than realising that its clients that help pay staff wages.

Regarding sexy clientele the saying beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Most clubs have an all inclusive and welcoming attitude. No one should be there to judge. How would you feel turning up and the doorman says “nah not for this club mate” you’d be totally embarrassed. Which is totally the opposite of what a lifestyle club is aiming for.
We have been to one club where there were a lot of OF types in making content for their page. The girls were mainly young slim and attractive and the boys were equally so with six packs etc. but the atmosphere was strange all night.
We went to the dungeon and had our normal fun, was regularly interrupted by noisy couples taking a few pics on a piece of equipment and then sauntering off to the next room:
In our experience clubs with a non selective attitude are the best to visit. |

As has already been said, Le Boudoir is probably the pick of the bunch of 'regular' clubs. Probably not too surprising bearing in mind the location and the consequent international clientele it attracts.
VA is also really lovely, and much of that is down to the staff who are of another world of friendliness.
We are lucky to have places like these. Let's hope we can keep them. |

We go to lots of clubs and have yet to see one like this. Have you actually been to one or is this just photos on the internet?
We spend everything from £30 to £150 a couples ticket and what you spend is not the indicator of behaviour or quality.
Many have said this already; Le Boudoir, Liberty Elite, Penthouse Playrooms, House of Poitier, Touch Sauna (Bristol on a swing night) are all excellent, clean and well decorated.
Chams is a bit of a sex pub in our opinion (not a bad thing just a different vibe), but very well run and clean. |

Personally we find it's the type of event that makes the biggest difference.
For example we go to one club where they have a really nice couples and single ladies event where the etiquette is dress to impress. It's definitely our preference.
Another club we've been to is more of a fancy dress themed place. Dressing up and naughty school kids etc etc. I just find it a bit weird. Not knocking the place as its very popular.....it's just not how we prefer. |
