My perception:
A FWB is a pre-existing friend with whom I'll occasionally have sex. No feelz or romantic commitment involved.
If it starts as just a sex thing, without a pre-existing friendship, and just carries on as a recurring shag thing, then my go-to term is "fuck buddy".
Fuck buddies can evolve into FWBs, if we also click on a friendship lebel. |

For me a FWB would come visit a couple of times a week, get naked, take time, make love, cuddle kiss nap afterwards. Have a chat, hang out for a bit before getting dressed.
Fcuk buddy would be someone who comes over, undresses, fcuks you for 10 or so minutes then leaves as soon as finished. |
