by not using condoms for oral on men and dental dams or similar on women for that matter, you are taking risks with your health. I have seen lots of people NOT using condoms and only a few who do. I have to admit that it is not something I always do myself |

I couldn't imagine using a dental dam. It's like throwing away the chocolate bar and chomping on the wrapper instead. Just does not do it for me. I love giving oral and recognise the risks, and whilst abstinence is presumably the only way to ensure you are 100% safe, for me personally, I think discretion and common sense go a long way. Besides, nothing is risk free. Those activities that are, aren't nearly as much fun |

My GUD clinic says it is possible to catch syphilis, chlamydia, gonorrhoea and genital herpes from oral sex. So it is not safe but if you are checked regularly then it can be treated, except for herpes.  |

It's not what can go wrong but how likely, ie what is the risk
You can die crossing the road but we all do it because the risks are generally low
Oral sex, vaginal sex carries risks, so does driving, smoking, eating red meat etc, all these things have to be taken in context and with the degree of risk |

I'm sure people get bored of me saying this but I got an sti in my throat from oral sex. I still have unprotected oral but I minimise the risks by not allowing men to cum in my mouth (I am aware this is not foolproof) and vetting partners very carefully and getting tested quarterly. This whole game is hyper risky because even condoms for pen sex only cut the risks and do not exclude them. Getting tested and being sensible with meets and using as much protection as possible is always going to be best.
As an aside, my GP friend blamed stis for the rise in antibiotic resistance..... |

It's about knowing the risks, having the right information and making your own choices.
I always give oral without a condom but would still insist on one for penetrative sex...that is slightly crazy because the risk for catching most sti's is about the same. I know the risks and still choose to take them...it's that rebellious streak I have!  |

We have made many movies over the years as well as meeting quite a few swingers & have never known anyone to catch anything orally.
We have GUM checks every 28 days which include throat swabs etc as we know it is possible to catch std's this way.
Like falling off the bed & breaking your neck anything can happen during sex, condoms should always be used for full sex though guys xx. |

Thing is most people forget that all contact has risk, fingering for example and I've seen countless times people that bitCh at me for having done bare on here, having a guy finger them that has just played with several other women.

read up on unprotected oral. You can get every thing that you can get for intercourse why would some one in the gum clinic say this to me if it wasn't true an in fact you are more likely to catch HIV though the mouth due to sores you might have or even if you have bit your cheek the germs are easily transmitted through it all. An il tell you know I caught chylmidia ,god knows how to spell, through a bj on a meet an it disgusted me and to be fair it was my first meet aswell no I didn't have it befor cz I was checked the 4 weeks later no sexual contact or anything had a meet no penetration at all jus oral. No meets after it then was due a test thought nothing of it even of it was pointless going if only had a bj but how wrong I was. |

I know people who have fucked in excess of 1000 people and never caught a thing, even with the odd case of unprotected pen sex. always swallowed, taken lots of facials. I was very unlucky but been excessively careful since. Maybe she was very careful in who she chose to fuck.
It's all a lottery at the end of the day. I just try and be careful who I play with. Not much else I can do apart from wrap myself in cotton wool. |

The risks are lower from oral sex. HIV is very hard to contract unless you have cuts in the mouth. But it is possible. And they also vary from men to women. Women are 50% likely to contract things from oral sex with an infected man whereas men are only 25% likely to contract something from an infected woman. It's where the infection lies in the body. |

Agreed it's weighing up the risks. Look at a comparison: I ride a fast motor cycle, it's risky at times but great fun. I minimise the risk by knowing my limits, always wearing good leathers and a good helmet. I take as many precautions as possible to reduce the risk but the risks are still there.
Sex is much the same, we take care and do everything to minimse the risk and fortunately we have been free from anything.
Can we go through life and have fun without risk? I don't think so, just do as much as you can to reduce the risk, take responisibility for it if it happens but have fun. Life's too short! |

I'm with you Cali, I've had oral with a condom and isn't nowhere near as good, a mouth is far more versatile than a pussy in what it can do and you lose a large chunk of that with a condom
As has been said you're more likely to die driving or eating red meat than oral without, everything has risks its about knowing those risks and deciding accordingly |

Yea I take risks by not using condoms for oral, but that's my choice. I'm old enough to know risks and make informed decisions.

A woman is at risk of catching Clamydia if performing oral sex on an infected guy without using a condom.
Also note a guy is also at risk as Clamydia can be transferred orally from the woman to the guy.
A guy can also catch Clamydia from an infected woman if performing oral sex on the woman.
Clamydia does not rely on the transfer of body fluids.
If you have not had a test for this STI then you should do so on a regular basis. |
