I think that 60 is when people generally start to see you as 'old'. Definitely when you reach pension age.
Personally I don't see a problem with being old or older. It's unavoidable if you're a lucky and nothing to be ashamed of |

I agree and not everyone gets the privilege of getting older.
I'm almost 50 and will be old to some, I thought 50 was really old when I was in my 20s. |

I'm 53 in a few weeks, which I'm fine about. But what makes me feel old is Fcebk popping a photo up, of me and my son in France 28 years ago. He turned 30 a couple of months ago and I'm left wondering 'how the hell did that happen?' |

You become old when you kind of give up on life and don’t take pride in yourself, your appearance, your cloths and when you just stay in rather than explore new things and do what you used to love.
Your age you can’t do anything about but the rest you can |

Read what I said, it says you become old when you let yourself go, so the moral is don’t.
And yes some do, dirty old trackys to the shops etc etc whereas 1 local guy takes pride in his appearance and looks great |

"62 apparently. For the first time in my life a young lady stood up to offer me her seat on the Tube yesterday.
Does the tube go to Kendal now?"
No. They do allow us Northerners out to visit London occasionally |

These last couple of years noticed the joints stiffening up. Now doing my exercises morning and evening and taking collagen supplements. Although I do a fair amount of outside work there is definite muscle loss. |

I think age is just a perception. As someone said 50 seemed old when I was in my 20s.
When you start reaching that age you realise it isn’t especially if you look after yourself and keep your mind active. |

I'm rapidly approaching my 60th and apart from a few aches and pains don't feel my age.
I've just spent the last week hiking in the Alps with a couple who are in their mid 70s so they don't feel old either.
It's all about perception and no-one else can make you feel old. |

When an album you loved in your twenties turns 50 years old.
I still think like a 25-30 year old, I don’t think any of us move on.
It’s just our body that reminds you every now and again that your mind is cashing cheques that it can’t pay. |

"I'm all for maintaining a youthful attitude and mind set. I also value maturity, experience and wisdom.
Youth is great, I should know I was young once but being older is great too. "
Quite right too. And working with young people, as I was for the last ten years of my working life, helps a lot too. I have lots of younger friends from that time so the effect lasts. |

There's a lot to be said for mixing with all age groups. |
