As someone who works on reception in a hotel I thought I'd share with you some tips:
No, we don't care you are taking someone up to the room you didn't check in with (we might comment to each other once you are through the door and make a note there is now more people in the room which leads me to the next point...)
You've checked yourself in with either one or two people, then another turns up, if there is a fire and you can't get out for any reason, the fire service would only be looking for that amount of people that checked in so that's always food for thought.
Cleaning bill? Unless you've left the place in a complete and utter state and been smoking, you don't get a cleaning bill, matteress protector and bedding soaked? No problem, these get changed, you don't get charged, always use a bin to discard condoms etc, people under 18 do work in them and sometimes makes them feel uncomfortable (I have seen condoms on light fittings before now).
My last point, while you are all moaning and groaning, try and be respectful of those around you, because we will get complaints about you, we will have to come and knock on the door during your stay and no one wants that, especially if you continue, this leads to us having to refund guests and we lose revenue and then prices go up, by all means have a good time but not at the expense of the hotel.
If someone is coming to join you and you want them to meet you in the room, tell the receptionist someone is joining you, you are an adult and can have who you like up there, they should take a name for the person and the person coming in should know your name, they will either be given a key card or walked to the room, don't over think it
Have a great time but using the above will help us x |
