Are people messed around on here that much that they can't even reply to a genuine message just giving a compliment? Not every guy is an arse hole, I hear people complain people don't talk, then even when you try to just leave a genuine compliment or are after just general chat you get ignored |

Seems to be a regular thing, I do try to reply to messages. |

I guess being ignorred is a thing on here... best not to take it too seriously or personally... people like what and who they like, we can't all be everyones idea of ideal contact.
I know some of us consider it bad manners if we bother to say something nice and get no response, but no response is a response.
Move on... find somebody actually interested... and have fun. |

I understand that everyone has their own taste etc just seems hard to find even genuine chit chat or even by complimenting someone a thank you maybe |

"What response would you reasonably expect to a compliment?
A thank you at least lol
If you're 'just' giving a compliment why is a thank you the least you expect, what more are you hoping for?
"
Well if the minimum I'd be after is a thank you, clearly I'm not after more lol a thank you or maybe a conversation as I said not every guy on here is just rude and after the whole site lol |

If I ever receive a compliment on here, I'll be able to answer that. |

I'd say that if your minimum acceptable reply is thank you then you are after more, even if it is just a friendly chat.

I stopped replying to compliments. In my experience, a compliment on here isn’t simply a compliments. It’s so often used as a way to try to engage the person in conversation and if I’m not interested in the person a response is so often misconstrued, it’s best to not respond at all.
The times I’ve replied saying thank you, they’ve either sent me cock pics or gone into great detail about what they’d love to do to me.
Sure you could be in the minority and genuinely simply providing a compliment but with so many that aren’t, a response here simply gives the person the opportunity to circumnavigate filters. |

It's lovely that you pay people compliments.
Unfortunately, some men think that any response is an invitation to start a conversation which will then hopefully lead to more.
If I am paid a compliment by a profile for which I have no interest, I don't normally respond, as I'm not interested in starting a conversation.
I'm not trying to be rude, but I don't want to have to then send a response which says "sorry, I don't want to talk to you". I don't want to lead someone on.
I have replied previously with "thanks" and nothing more, but then some profiles don't take a hint and bombard with messages of varying rudeness, or dick pics, which then results in a block. Those men then complain they get blocked.
A failure in response just means whoever you sent a message to, is, I'm afraid, not wishing to commence a conversation.
Good luck OP though, hope you find someone who does reply soon x |

false flattery for me is a turn off so any message i get with them i just delete if the continue then block ...
its no big deal some wont like it some will love it so people use it as a filter and nobody owes anybody a reply most of us dont open a message until we look at your profile or lack of it and then ignore the message unless the profile provides a spark ... dont take it to heart |

Pretty much this ^ without getting all White Knight syndrome.
There is no way I would reply to all messages if I was getting hundreds of messages to deal with and having to decide if they were sincere or not.
OP try to see it from the other side. I'm sure you'll agree. |

I used to reply to everyone however that leads to more messages especially from the men then a huge sulk or insults when you point out you don't meet men (which they knew from the huge warning that popped up when they messaged)
So now I don't reply to many - I didn't ask for the message I have zero obligation to reply.
Just like I don't reply to my spam emails - I didn't ask for them.
A no reply is a no thank you - see fab rules.

The problem of replying back to a compliment is that leads on to further conversation. Couples and single ladies are inundated with messages. So much easier to not reply and save it for the people they find attractive or interesting. |

I think you maybe mistaking my point. For clarity...
"Or too busy"...either responding to better messages or cracking on with their lives. |

We will say thanks to a nice complement, but it's not an invitation to more messages.
If anyone is interested in us we would rather they just say so with a nice message stating that.
But that does not mean asking how our day or week have been.or asking how we are finding fab.can I ask you a question is particularly irritating.you have just asked a question to ask a question.
Oops got into a bit of a rant

Recently I sent a man a compliment. I had zero expectations of a reply. I was realistic in simply sending a compliment without any hidden agenda. He replied and encouraged continued correspondence. I didn’t feel the need to respond.
If you’re genuinely giving compliments you shouldn’t have an expectation. Send the compliment and whatever they choose to do with it be okay with it. Don’t moan about not receiving a thank you. That’s what would make you different. |

I try to reply to all messages (I'm getting hardly any so it's easy) but most of the time, a compliment is much more than just a compliment, people use it to try and start a conversation. So if I'm not interested, I'd normally block straight after replying. |

Having just read this thread, we just received a compliment message, so we looked at their profile and immediately knew the sender wasn't of interest, had they read our profile it says on there why they wouldn't be, but we said "thanks" anyway.
Sure enough 2 minutes later the next message arrives with a face pic attached asking for ours in return and if we wanted some fun. It also says on our profile we aren't meeting.
So that's why we ignore them normally. |

Let’s face it we’re all strangers if we decided to ignore each other. There’s simple lack of respect by not responding to a simple message of well being…the exception if its a blatant disrespect message. |

Nobody owes anybody a response. If you expect one every time you compliment someone, then it’s a thinly veiled agenda.
I used to respond to everyone. Unfortunately even a kind ‘thanks but no thanks’ is seen as an invitation to keep badgering me. |

I guess you phone up/email every single company that posts the leaflet through your door or sends you an email to say sorry but you're not interested in what they are offering? If not, are you not disrespecting all those companies? Being a woman on here is a bit like being the most sought-after customer, you can get loads of junk mail, and replying to it all can be a full time job. So please respect the FAQs of this website that state no reply equals "no, thank you". |

i think men who expect a reply are simply entitled and to be honest a massive turn off ... no one asked for the compliment a compliment that most often is false and said for a reason ie drop your knickers thing is most women today can see right through it as false n creepy |

It's amusing to me that *some* men feel that paying a woman a compliment aka 'being a nice guy' deserves a response of some sort and even gratitude. If this isn't forthcoming the woman is shallow and disrespectful.
Am I the only person that sees a certain irony in this? |

Not everyone knows how to respond to a throw away compliment , sometimes a compliment can come across as creepy especially when its given with the intent of starting a conversation and when that doesn't happen the giver of the compliment takes the huff because they got rejected . |

We’ll just how do we communicate here This is sex with bum and tits and cocks galore if you don’t want attention don’t put up images to provoke such comments which you find offensive or not worthy of comment If I said that’s a nice pair tits it’s because they are to me if you cover them up I won’t say nice cardigan by the way |

What about the lack of respect shown by still messaging someone (often without reading their profile first) who may have said that
a) they aren’t interested in meeting men
b) you may not be remotely their type
… plus the irony of calling someone shallow because they choose to ignore an unsolicited message from a complete stranger |
