What would you guys consider the correct winking etiquette, As we have had several times we get winked, wink back and then everything is silence should we just message them and take the reigns or is it a sign the other part of the couple was probably like actually no thanks lol

I would just message regardless, both parties are clearly interested.

Might as well strike up a conversation first

I always take it as an invite to chat and hopefully vice versa.

We've had this many times, so we just don't bother with winks. It feels like they are saying we're interested, but want you do send the first message

If we get a wink we check out their profile, if we're interested we wink back and follow that up with a polite thank you for the wink and hopefully start to chat.

If I receive a wink and like what I see, I'll wink back and message if they haven't messaged me soon after. Having said that, I received a wink a couple of days ago, fabbed a few of my pics too, sent a polite message thanking them and asking would they like to chat, and heard nothing back

Our system is on our profile.

We wink, and you wink back, we say hi.

You wink and we wink back, you say hi....This seems to work OK.

Carlisle usually

My wink etiquette is ignore it until its over a thousand and then open it so the number on the homepage isn't so long.

I don't have a use for winks

Notts somewhere

If I get Winked at, I will send a message, hoping it's a sign that the door for chatting is open.

However; I've spoken to some guys on here and other sites where winking is a thing..

Most guys will wink, because they don't want to waste the effort on an "amazing opening message" - only for it to be deleted or ignored.

If the profile takes our fancy then we will reach out with a message.

Out of every 10 we get maybe 2 messages back.

that is less than i would have thought - bit rude not to even get a response

If someone winks at me first I normally message back.

If I get a wink back , I then also message back.

Just use it as an opener the winking

We don't even look at winks anymore for that exact reason. It says on our profile, so if people do wink, it just shows they haven't even taken the time to read our profile

We’ve had winks from couples, we will always respond, normally with a message thanking them for the interest even if it’s not what we’re looking for. Some we have responded to really politely have then just completely blanked us. Just don’t fucking wink then!

We never did wink back, used to follow up with a message but still nothing came back. Hence what we said above, just don't bother looking anymore

That, winks are a nice gateway.

That is the system that works the best I think

This is the wink etiquette I use too, especially as it seems logical and sensible to me

This makes the most sense, but I don't really like winking, just say hello.

The winking option for me is like the “ like” button of the faces of books some people pay attention to it or they don’t , personally I think it’s there to test the waters and always respond accordingly

I like what a few people have said here already….

-1st party winks if they are interested

-2nd party reciprocates with a wink back if they are also interested

-1st party then messages to introduce themselves

Yeah we seem to be the same as most people.

If we wink and they wink back then we message.

If they wink and we like what we see then we wink back to show we are interested and presume they will message.

If we wink and no reply then we move on, and if someone winks us and we aren't interested we don't reply

Pretty simple really
