Browsing the hot photos there seems to be an awful lot of lovely ladies listed as couples who have those awkward self taken photos, many with their phone showing...why?, if my Mrs wants a pic you would have to wrestle the camera from me |

Are they couples that live together?
Do they have long distance relationships or is one of them serving away?
Peoples lives are so much more complex than a picture or a simple profile |

I suppose its quick to just take a snap with a phone. some people don't like long drawn out posed sessions in front of a camera.
It takes a long time to set up a photograph, getting the background sorted, the camera set up, the lenses, the lighting, the clothes, the editing etc, hours really. Even just a quick pose in front of a self timer, still got to get the tripod out

"I think the same when I see that - and also when couples send face pics but none of them are of them both together."
That involves either a timer or getting someone else to take the pic - and then both of you finding that pic agreeable... last time that happened to us was when we got married, I think!
As to self taken pics - they don't have to be awkward - several of the pics on our profile are self taken and we frequently get compliments on them. I have often taken pics myself when he's been at work |

Don't jump to conclusions. Some of us have partners who work away during the week and who may occasionally get sent a certain style of photo to remind them that they have steak at home iykwim He then usually puts them on our couples profile x |

That's so true! Also, after you've had children, trying to find a photo of you, or both of you, that doesn't have the children in it too. I've realised I have only one, taken by me holding the phone. So really not good enough to send. |

I don't jump to conclusions about it and some of the self taken ones are good.
But when the only photos are self taken it raises a question because everyone has a digital camera in one form or another nowadays and seems odd not to have played with it as a couple.
I get the difficulty of a joint face pic - been there - but a bit of wine, camera, tripod.. |

I really can't be arsed to do that, tbh - posing for a photo in that way would make both of us look so unnatural neither of us would want to use it anyway.
I don't get why anyone would be even the slightest bit hung up about a couple not having a joint photo..? |

"I do, however, think it's funny that there's a hint of an accusation that even single females are masquerading as couples lol. "
You protest too much - admit it |

"I broke our digital camera last october and haven't yet got round to replacing it because we both have camera phones. So no we don't have one. "
that was kind of my point though - you do have one - on your camera! |

Neither do I - it's just a discussion to pass the time while I should be getting on with work. I said it raises a question, not that I got hung up on it - I don't advocate floggings for couples without joint pics.. well unless they're into that sort of thing. |

Woah paranoia rife in here, it was a genuine comment as to why the other half not on the other side of the camera when the ladies look so sexy, stop looking for sonething that was never said or inferred. |

"maybe they like taking their own photos!!! I love them personally."
Couldn't agree more there's something very sexy about a girl taking a photo of herself to share , if its a grainy amateur phone pic taken in the mirror then so be it I find them very sexy |

It makes me smile when people look for hidden meanings. You can't say anything without someone coming up with an obscure reason why it is that way. The usual I get thrown at me is why I don't have Mr Iconic in the picture, the simple answer is that he doesn't want to be, he finds all the male posing of bums and chests on public profile opics a little narcissistic and not his thing really. But of course people want to believe that he's so ugly, a male Medusa that will turn others to stone, that's why I keep him hidden from view - well ill go with that, sounds more mysterious than the rather boring truth.
I take my own pictures using a remote. The real reason behind this is because I don't like anyone watching me, puts me off, I fiddle a lot with the camera, it can become boring for others to wait. There's no sinister hidden meaning.

All of the ones of me are self taken because either I took them to send to the Monkey when he was serving overseas or bcause when he's back, he takes awful pictures or even the anti hand shakey setting can't compensate...lol...
I took all the ones of him because I just like to look at him a lot... |
