Opinion please.

Should one get offended if someone you are going to meet asks if you are STI free? Especially if unsafe sex is involved.

I've never been offended by someone asking if I have had a check up.

It's a sensible question really and I never play bareback and wont meet with anyone I suspect has, or has veri's to that affect.

In my Opinion.

If they over react to a simple question, I suspect they have either something to hide or have issues with it, that they havent dealt with..

Wise comment - thanks.

I'm not sure of the point in asking, if someone was aware they had an infection, had agreed a meet without telling why would they confess on being asked?

Most common infections have a ten day wait till symptoms appear or they are detectable so unless the person had been tested recently and had refrained from sex for at least ten days to being tested, they couldn't guarantee to being std free.

I'm confused here? Are you asking if YOU should be offended because someone has asked you to have unprotected sex and has also asked if YOU are sti free?

If this is the case I think you are mad talking to someone on here in these terms sorry.

No, sorry for any confusion.

The scenario is you get to the point of getting the address and ask, politely and because they said BB, if they are STI clear. Then you get suddenly blanked, I assume, because they are offended.

I am relatively new to this. Is it expected that persons with STI will get it sorted before they pass it on or what? I seem to have offended the other party by asking; which was not the intention.

Personally if anyone asks me for BB I block straight away. I wouldn't have any type of conversation with them. That goes for guys who say that somewhere down the line they want to start having a BB relationship. How many people do they do this with and how many people are their partners doing it with and on and on.

Just a damn shame people aren't truthful and there isn't a way to stay safe.

you have an improved chance of staying safe if you assume that every other person has/does BB and insist on condoms, but even then there is still a level of risk - it's naive to think otherwise.

As the OP I would thank posters. It seems quite clear that if BB is on offer then you have to consider the risk and not rely on the meet's honesty.

Thanks!

You just cant rely on the word of anyone 100%...their is always an element of risk...its not an unreasonable question, whether you are guaranteed a straight answer is another thing though

I don't think it's unreasonable to ask people if they get tested.

I get tested once a month at my club and say so on my profile, but I haven't seen anyone else mention similar testing on their profile.

this is the way i look at it..... dont leave it in the hands of other people to protect you...... the onus is on you to protect yourself
