Willington

We're looking to take our motorhome down to Cap d'Agde this summer. We'd be interested in chatting to people that have done this please.

I realise flying there is much easier and cheaper, but we prefer to drive.

I have searched for Cap d'Agde in the forum, and was surprised to find very little.

Thanks in advance.

I haven't driven anything to Cap d'Agde, but there is a car park there and there are supposed to be motohome hookups available. The sun in the south is brutal so make sure your home on wheels can withstand it. My main concern would be parking your motorhome before you are able to enter the site (you need to get a pass from the office near the gates) and I haven't seen motorhomes parked there. Better ask your question in the France forum here.

The French forum is full of Cap advice so I suggest that you try their op.

Happy driving because driving here is the best.

Near Bergerac

There's tons of advice on the French forum regarding Cap.

I'd search again...!!

You'll get as many opinions as there are French cheese varieties...!

Basically, there's a naturist village, which is just a small part of the Cap holiday resort. And when I say small, the naturist village can have 40,000 residents in the summer. So you can tell how big the whole resort is...!

The camp site is called Oltra and there's a website in English which gives you all the info you need. It's a great camp site, clean and well run. But it has 2,500 pitches so it's not quiet. It's a family site so no overt sexy shenanigans.

And it's not cheap in high season.

Any further advice can be gained by posting on the French forum.

Good luck

My thanks to all those who responded. I've now found the France forum and hence a lot more info.

Ashford and dept16

We have driven to Cap serveral times, its 10 and half hours on a good run and within the speed limits. (Which you do not want to exceed not just cameras now but unmarked cars). We avoided Paris Parafique its mad! Think M25 on a bad day and twice as mad, bikes are prone kicking doors and knocking off wing mirrors.

We normally would split the journey around Cleremont Ferrand. The millau is worth the £5.00 to cross.

Good photos!!
