A CD/TV/TS Categorisation question

I have a question (and I hope this is the place, and that it'll be taken in the vein it's intended - honest curiosity)
Why do we place TS with CD/TV? It always feels a bit odd to me. Assuming we're not wrong and TS stands for transexual we're talking about something that is (for want of the right word) a health condition and that is being (hopefully) treated with gender affirmation processes. Obviously people may be different stages through the process but it is a medical thing.
From what we understand (again please kindly correct if this is misunderstood) CD/TV is more a sexual kink than anything else.
Can someone genuinely educate us on this as it's always caused confusion when searching |

"Why do we place TS with CD/TV? "
I think the most likely explanation is that the "TV/TS" category was probably created 15 years ago when this site was first created and probably seemed appropriate for the time. However the world has moved on a lot since then but for some reason the category has never been addressed/updated unfortunately.
So I don't think its for any reason other than it may be a difficult thing for the owners to change. This site does not really change much which is one of its benefits but for this reason is a shame. |

"Being a CD isnt always a sexual kink. Obviously for some it may be but other it can be a form of expression and enjoyment."
This is probably fair (and as per original post we’re unintentionally ignorant) but still feels significantly different from TS |

Not a problem you can never k ow everything about everything and its good to ask . Its like kelly said above its such a old site it probably hasnt been updated.
I can only talk from my perspective as someone who is also very new to exploring more of that side of me but there isnt any kink involved just more enjoyment |

I’m a crossdresser x not even a transvestite x
I’ve no wish for transition and still happy to have meets relationships as normal male .
I do love having another persona though and enjoy wearing ladies clothing but absolutely don’t want to offend ladies or trans males or females x so it started as a sexual fetish with satin but had developed into a way of getting away from things and if I have sex or more as Paula or Paul so what x I think crossdresser is fine as a Label if I have to have one x |

"Why are people on this site obsessed with labels?
Read the profiles for goodness sake."
Because, if applied correctly and honestly, they are the quickest way to find what you're looking for.
If you walked into a supermarket and there were no labels on any items, how are you supposed to find the item you want? |

TS - Trans born in wrong body.
TV - Transvestite dresses fully with makeup, wig and tries to be as convincing as possible. Can also be a Female to Male but rare.
CD- Crossdresser wears women’s clothing but doesn’t go to extreme lengths to appear as the opposite sex.
Not all do it as a sexual kink or for more deeper reasons than it just feels right.
The site has decided to lump us all together, however a Trans Person could label themselves on the site as the gender they feel represents them accurately or how they live day to day. |

I would say that I'm a CD/TV. I'm not TS as I'm not Transitioning. However dressing up, applying make up and generally presenting femanine isn't just a sexual kink as I'm very happy to go shopping, drinks, lunch as Lucy. I just feel much happier as Lucy and confident too. Femanine clothing is just so much nicer and I just love applying make up and painiting my nails.
Hope that helps or maybe not xx |

There is a massive difference between cd/TV to a TS |

That’s just it. And as much as somebody above is upset about looking for labels we all have preferences. Labels help us identify what we want, if labels didn’t matter at all we’d all just be on here with no labels of any sort and wouldn’t split by gender in any way.
There’s lots of grey between the labels for sure but they’re a good guide. |

I think TV "Transvestite" probably is an accurate description for most of "Us Girls" on here but feel there is or must be an element of TS there , perhaps just not as strong as feeling we are born as the wrong sex , Why else would we make so much effort to appear Female perhaps just too much Pink Wiring in our minds or maybe it is just a Kink / Fetish that we have aquired during some stage of our lives , As for the sexual aspect I don,t think all TV,s are Attracted to men , indeed I,d suggest most are very much more attracted to Women Like myself and want to emulate them , that does bring about a degree of Bi-Sexuality in their Nature when presenting as Female which can be very difficult to accept or even understand |

"Read the profiles not just the label.
Lazy people can't be arsed on this site just moan and bitch."
OP wasn't moaning etc.
They asked a perfectly reasonable and legitimate question in my opinion.
All credit to them for asking and not just blindly assuming.

When I read the original post, I thought oh dear!! … here we go again, and having seen similar threads before kind of anticipated the direction of travel here…. and more importantly there is no definitive label that can be applied!
As I understand it there is no hard and fast definition of each ‘category’ within the spectrum of transgender, but loosely speaking, in my opinion - and this is just MY interpretation here, Steph has those ‘shades’ of transgenderism about right… others will most likely see it differently.
I like to think I am honest from the outset on my profile as to where I am, so as not to confuse anyone. I see my self as a ‘t-girl’ (which is the terminology I prefer), or transvestite - if we are using labels is quite possibly the ‘technical’ term.
As others have said, if you’re honest about what you believe you are up front … it doesn’t take long to work it out … and likely as not those looking will have their own definition / interpretation anyway of what they are looking for in order to decide - or judge!

To muddy the waters further … I’m just a queer boy nobody loves me .. I’m just a queer boy from a poor family .. spare me my life from this monstrosity!! ..
I do class myself as a transvestite , mainly because not knowing much else as I was growing up , the term transvestite came up in an article I read , and I thought oh that must be me then .. Plus I’ve grown to love the name , I think it’s kinda gothic , and Rocky horror is such a classic as just a sweet transvestite …
I’ve stopped worrying so much on what I’m classed as , and just kinda got on with being me .. I except all labels really , even some of the more distasteful ones .. place what ever label you want on me .. as long as it’s shiny …
