Lose the wink

There used to be a time when the wink was a good way to let someone know you were interested and if you got a return you would message.

But these days it’s seems the wink is obsolete. Even when sending or receiving a wink.

Too much demands for messages with x number of pictures.

Shame as a wink was pretty exciting to receive and a nice way to start engaging

Can't remember the last time I received one. Do people still use it?

I love to send and receive winks.

I still think it’s an easy way to break the ice.

A wink has it's place, but just throwing them out without reading someone's bio is annoying.

We say for couples a wink is initial interest and if we like follow up with a message.

We also say for single guys, don't wink at all, just message, then same again if we are interested we will follow up with a message.

Unsolicited winks from single guys just tell us a few things

A) Don't read

B) Don't respect preferences

We get them not a frequent as before but still get a few, we like to send them instead of a message to gage if people are interested

I think a wink is a good way to show interest and then if you get one back it’s worth a message.

I only say worth as when I send a message they’re unique to that person/people and I like to put effort into it. If I did that with every profile where there’s some interest from my side, I’d be typing 24/7!

Winks make it easy to see if there’s mutual interest, if I get one back then I send a message.

It doesn’t happen all the time but if I get one without sending one first I then send a message. I think winks are great but I can see why people getting hundreds of messages and winks per day would prioritise messages and ignore winks.
