The usual rules when tying someone apply.
Have a pair of EMT shears or cutting hook close by in case the knot constricts.
Scarves (similar to some artificial rope) can tighten into knots that can't be untied easily.
Therefore use appropriate knots (quick release) and or leave finger width between skin and scarves. Ensure the knots that are used won't turn into tourniquet.
