When I got into BDSM game the rules that I was told were:
Anything that comes into contact with bodily fluids (blood, semen, women's lubrication) should only be used on that person. As well as breaking skin, flogging of female genitals with a leather flogger, then that flogger should be restricted to one person.
Whips, if you break skin keep the cracker for that person and put on a fresh one.
Theoretically the only way to have 100% piece of mind with steel products is to put it in a autoclave. But most use anti virus wipes.
With ropes, I use artifical ropes like POSH in clubs. This is because if the ropes go on genitals or on the floor ( and who knows whats on the floor or place where you put your ropes), once I get home the ropes are thrown into the washing machine with disinfectant. This leaves my jute for non sexual play.
I think the BDSM view is that you should look after the people you play with and not unnecessarily expose them to harm. But everyone has their own risk matrix. |
