been there 6 times and things are changeing i would suggest you avoid the stratsphere end as they are doing a lot of building work that has come to a standstill.

check out trip advisor reports but be aware most people only seem to write something when they got a gripe lol

all hotels on the strip are high class . Work out what u want from the hotel like a good pool and research it.

a few hotel pools are now in the shade of much bigger ones

Bristol

The best advice I was given was try to arrive at night, the place looks amazing.

Also the Grand Canyon is worth a visit.

we stayed at the Mirage. Rates were reasonable and it was in the centre of the strip so location was perfect.

Caesars Palace was amazing and you have to include a trip to Spearmint Rhinos (the girls offer to take you private for $200 and you get everything, if you've a mind to). They're all stunners and well worth the money.

New York New York (hotel) had it's own Coyote Ugly bar when I was there and that is a brilliant evening.

Check out who's playing where and you can go and see whoever you like even if you aren't stopping at that particular hotel.

"O™" by Cirque du Soleil are at the Bellagio Hotel and KÀ™ by Cirque du Soleil are at the MGM Grand Hotel.

iCandy (Burlesque Show) is at Planet Hollywood.

Blue Man Group is at Monte Carlo Resort.

Chippendales at the Rio Suite Hotel.

There's even Donny and Marie at Flamingo Hotel, if you want to really naff out.

More options available at viator.com

Hull

I have friends of mine who run their own B&B business in another state and they went on holiday to Vegas towards the end of last year.

They said that recession has really hit the city and that hotels are struggling for all the trade they can get, so deals are very much possible.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

There's loads to do in Vegas, but it depends what you're after. Agree about avoiding Stratosphear end generally, but the Strat itself is good, and downtown is ok for an evening.

Recommend Death Valley, Grand Canyon, driving round the motor speedway, in fact driving round generally.

Fantastic fun, get it booked. And when the hotel seems expensive, remember that for the equiv of about £100 you'll get a room three times as good as a £55 premier inn...

Can't reccomend the Gourmet buffet at the Belagio enough. Outstanding from round the world and the best of American. Seems expensive compared to other buffets but you won't be dissapointed.

Stretford

Clubs we know of are red rooster, green door and power exchange. We went to the red rooster and while it's a nice place it's pretty tame by uk club standards, not a lot of play on the night we were there. Didn't go to the power exchange because the SF power exchange wasn't good. Have been told the green door is ok, but was told the same about the red rooster.

It is the best place on earth, fantastic.

We stayed at Planet Hollywood which was reasonably priced and central on the strip. The croupiers are all girls and dressed in lingerie as well!

We did a lot of nightclubs, the most memorable was the Voodoo Lounge on top of the Rio. Drinking Cristal and smoking Cubans whilst looking down the strip madee us feel like millionaires.

I visited about 2 years ago, did a flyover in a small plane over the Grand Canyon whilst there, that was a quick way to do it and gives you much more of an impression of the size of it. The Bellagio is lovely, I ate at a restaurant there I think it was called Olives, it was very good, and after the meal had coffee on the balcony watching the dancing fountains Its an amazing place, especially when you're coming in by plane and you see nothing but desert and then this city appears in the middle of the desert...nothing like it. I saved money by staying in a new hotel on the outskirts of town and taxi in to the strip, I got it on hotwire.com, but thats a bit of a risk as you never know where you're going to end up. I heard that the casino shaped like a pyramid was not a good place to stay.

Have a fabulous time!!! (can I fit in your suitcase?? )

There are hotels just off the strip and most have shuttle buses to the strip and they are a fair bit cheaper if you're not bothered about being on the strip. Taxi's are pretty cheap too, compared to over here anyway!

I went years ago and really want to go again. It's tacky as hell but wonderfully done. Make sure you wear a watch in the casinos as they don't have clocks and you can't see out so you can lose track of whether it's day or night in them if you get caught up in the gambling! x

Reading

For me the Monte Carlo is in a good central spot, good quailty and ok price. Bellagio and Casesars Palace are good too, but will be more pricey. Last time I went they were building more new hotels on the strip which looked tall and shiney, as opposed to all the themed hotels, so it might be totally different now lol....

Get a car too, easy to get around, go to the hoover dam etc, and the outlets lol

Newcastle

The Wynn hotel does the most amazing all you can eat brekkie, and if you like cake, The Cheesecake factory is a must. They do amazing main course food too and its really reasonable. We went once, and kept going back over and over as it was so good. Its hard(ish) to find, its right at the back of Caesars Palace mall, worth hunting out and you pass some great shops on the way!!!
