Its quite an interesting concept of a trashy novel caused a stir, now I got this from someone I know so I don’t know if the information is correct. The books which there were 5 of them were written some 20 years ago and they got a ghost writer in to revamp them and look what happened it’s made the publishers a fortune.
However the other side of the impact has a completely different affect on the real BDSM.
One evening I wandered into a chat room and they greeting me and I joined the conversation and of course it was about 50 shades they said we have been flooded with women thinking BDSM is like the books and its not. I was at work and all the girls were reading this book passing it from one to another and they were all excited about them.
And they were all talking about who will be Mr Grey in the movie, I said to them in work not letting them know I knew more than I did, I said your all going on about these book however if you want to know about this I would watch a movie called the secretary with James spader in it or watch the movie with Madonna and wilham Defoe its called body of evidence if you want to know about this, you would see what it was all about, but they were then going on to read some more of the trashey novels that have been made again into 3 books again written years ago and about to make the publishers another small fortune.

I am a definate 50 shades hater, they really do NOT do the kink scene any favours. They bring in bored housewives and naive young women looking to get into something they are not ready for and who will, quite probably get taken advantage of-look at all the stories in the papers about women taking their "masters" to court after getting into a 50 shades style relationship with them!
Also-i can't really tell because your words are a little jumbled but are you saying that you think the books were written years ago and have been re-published to make money for the company?
I thought the general story was that the woman started writing fan fiction for the Twilight films online and it turned into the 50 shades books? Or maybe you know some secret conspiracy theory |

"I also thought that the books were Twilight fanfiction "
That was what I thought.
Master of the Universe or some such nonsense. It was never meant to be a great work of literature like The Story of O or what have you, just a dirty version of Twilight that couldn't be published by the same site or publishing house.
