Legally no-one can be owned. However, emotionally one can be owned, that is not pretense and the emotional connection is what counts. A marriage may have the force of law but if there is no real relationship that is pretense.
The part that most people don't understand (even some of those claiming to be owners) is that in modern D/s commitments run both ways. The owner has obligations as well as rights, as does the owned. |

I (Debbie) am sort of but not all the time if that makes sense. I meet a Dom couple and when I'm with them I am 100% their toy. They do sometimes introduce others but only when I'm actually with them. Outside of our meets I am free to play or not as I wish so maybe not truly owned |

This is very true. It is a 24/7 commitment. There is much involved to being owned or owning someone. I always find interesting when people talk about collars but don't really know the significance of them.
